DrZao (96), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 2, 2008 Red/purple pour. Lovely fruity aroma with yeast notes. Flavor is a thirst quenching blend of fruity sweetness and sourness, with essentially no bitterness. Somewhat fizzy palate. Delicious lambic. WallyWalrus (205), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 30, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours a clear and bright ruby red with a full pinkish/lavender head -- a very striking and unique looking beer! Aroma is sweet and tart, with a strong cherry scent complemented by hints of yeast, wood, and other less distinct fruity tones. Taste is medium-bodied and smooth, with a tart flavor of cherry and black currant along with slight hints of woodiness and earthiness on the finish. A wonderful sipping beer that would make for a fine dessert. Elizavyeta (110), Minnesota, USA Mar 30, 2008 A vibrantly lavender fluffy head sits atop this fragrantly tart lambic.
Yeasty and somewhat tangy with pronounced notes of blueberry, raspberry, cherry, molasses, and of course, currant. Exceptionally fruity and exceptionally drinkable.
Pair with a triple creme cheese and baguette for an out-of-this-world dessert. Blom (390), Odense, Denmark Mar 26, 2008 Red with a huge rosé head. Sweet and acidity aroma and flavours of black currants and sugar. Very refreshing! Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Mar 23, 2008 Pours out totally gay, with an opaque plum body below a vibrant pink head that leaves spotty rings of lacing with each sip. The nose is tart blueberry, seawater, black currants and barnyard funk. The initially flavour is sweet berries and oak, later moving into barnyard funk, tart berries, black currants and saline. Beneath the obscenely sweet and tart berry flavours there is a bready quality to this brewski. The mouthfeel is syrupy, yet somehow airy. It’s shocking that there is somewhat of an alcohol presence in such a low abv beer. emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Mar 23, 2008 It looks like a red merlot with a thick head and spotted red laceing along the sides of the glass. The nose has a seasalt breeze with strong black currants and a sour funk. The flavor is very strong initially with sour dark fruits on the tip of the tounge and sweet juice syrup along the side walls of my mouth. There is a real lot of carbonation as it tingles and pops on your tounge. I do enjoy the sweet tart finish of all the dark fruit and some hints of flaked barley and the wild yeast funk. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Mar 18, 2008 This is a decent lambic. Nice tartness along with the sweetness and powerful flavor of currants. Well balanced. Nice beer. MoritzF (4859), Bochum, Germany Mar 10, 2008 (25cl bottle) Cloudy, murky red colour with a short reddish creamy head. Slightly sweet and moderately sour nose with distinctive notes of black currant. Sweet and sour flavour, light bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Cassis-fruity taste that covers almost everything else but which is furthermore never artificial nor tangy; slighty sweet, moderately tart cassis-fruity finish. All in all not bad (09.03.08).
