Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

"poured nearly the color of grape juice, with a nice pink/light purple head. smelled sweet and funky. Tasted very sweet (as sweet as the Framboise) but with considerably more lambic funk (in the nose and flavor). you could easily taste the fruity currant flavor as well. while i enjoyed it, it was the least drinkable of the three i’ve tried to date (raspberry, apple, black currant). the tart/sour & sweet mix that worked well at first got a little old after 8-12 oz. Not badmouthing, though. it’s an interesting beer worth trying. Don’t know if I’ll drop another $6+ for 12 oz. any time soon, though."

250ml bottle served in a Lindermans flute glass. A: Pours a dark purple plum color forming a small light purple head. Medium retention and some lacings left S: Smells like a Lambic, I mean, sweet fruitiness, and, at the same time, tart and bit vinegar. Lambic yeasts T: Follows the nose. Sweet fruity upfront followed by an acid and tart Lambic taste. Metallic. Lambic yeasts are a must M: Light, fizzy carbonated body. Fruity and acid O: Easy drinking Lambic. More acid than the average but still an interesting experience [ BA Review @ 6/23/2012 ]

Shared bottle at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague. Pours clear dark reddish with a small pink head. Strong and intense aroma of blackcurrant. Taste is very sweet fruty and or but also light acidic, worked nice as a palate cleaner, more of a soft drink than a beer imo.

Bottle from B&S Drinks, Leuven. Dark red colour, pink foam. Aroma of blackcurrant, candy and lemon. Sour beer with sweet sugary hints. More lemonade than beer but not very bad.

0,375l Flasche. Dunkelrote Farbe wie beim Rotwein mit einem rosa Schaum. Duft nach Cassis bzw. Beeren. Schmeckt nach reifen Beeren und einerleicht herben Note. Sehr angenehm.

Bottle, 0.25l. Murky ruby color with small frothy reddish head. Aroma of black currant, vinegar, barnyard and horse blanket. Taste starts sour fruity and vinous, follows by sweet black currant syrup with earthy and metallic mouthfeel, while finish is very light bitter, maybe just because of grape skins. Medium body, syrupy texture and fizzy natural carbonation in palate. Way above my initial expectations...

(Lindemans Cassis Lambic) Bottle 250 ml at home, poured into a small tulip. ABV 3.5% Very deep red, almost purple in colur, with also a light purple head on top, small but thick, with very good retention, leaving heavy lacing on the glass. Aroma of light wheat and sour grapes, overpowered by the black currant. Taste is quite sour, helped a bit by the black currants, some wheat too. Very good. Full body, quite tart on the palate, creamy and smooth on the palate. Quite good, pleasantly surprised with this one.
