Varsin esanssinen mustaherukalla maustettu Lambic. Suutuntuma on melko raikas, mutta yksiulotteinen.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I poured a 12oz capped and corked bottle into the official Lindemans flute glass. There was no apparent freshness date. It cost $6.49 ($0.54 per ounce).
Appearance: Appears magenta out of the bottle, but more of a deep violent hue in the glass. Completely opaque. Forms a surprisingly large, indigo-colored, foamy head which laces and retains very well.
Smell: Wine-like with a strong black grape and slightly vinegary aroma. Thereís a sour candy scent as well.
Taste: Iíve tried the entire Lindemans fruit-flavored lambic line and one thing they all seem to have in common is the beer essentially drink like juice. Though Iíd say in the case of the Cassis, thatís probably the truest of them all. This doesnít really drink like a beer in terms of hops and barley, though it does have that delicious wild yeast sourness that I love when done right (like in the case of this beer).
Right away I get a tart, grape and berry-like flavor thatís so authentic-tasting it feels like freshly-squeezed juice. This beer is made with black currants, which have an interesting taste - with notes of sour black grape, blueberry and blackberry. The wild yeastís sourness is pronounced immediately, complementing the fruit perfectly. Just a touch of bitterness through the middle as it transitions to a tart, funky, farmhouse-like taste on the way down. It finishes with a sharp crackle of tartness, leading to tongue-clucking to savor the taste even more. Thereís a touch of vinegar as well, but itís nothing distracting.
Drinkability: While Lindemans Cassis Lambic may be a little more tart and sour than most fruit lambics, its drinkability is the same. The mouthfeel is soft and smooth with low carbonation, but strong intensity on the tongue. The low ABV (~3-4%) makes it drink like juice or lemonade, and it finishes rather clean. A great liquid dessert.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a deep purple-pink body with a small pink-hued off-white head. Nose is black currants, red currants, hints of citric acid and hay. Taste is tart slightly acidic blackcurrant juice ("husholdningssaft") and hints of lemon juice. Substantial sweetness of residual fruits. Medium body and carbonation. For its strength and nature its quite OK I suppose.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy people from the bottle with bubbly pink head that leaves light lace. Aroma is nice sweet fruitiness and a hint of tart, I suppose that is currant. Taste follows, somewhere in between a grape and a cherry, nice tartness. Bubbly on the tongue, not bad, better than the framboise.
