shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Apr 21, 2007 Happy 29th Birthday to my wife!
April 21, 2007 - Today was my wife’s 29th birthday and so she received a bottle of Lindeman’s Cassis Lambic as part of her gift from me (she has really been wanting to try this one). These tasting comments are mostly hers... Lindeman’s Cassis Lambic is really pretty. It is purple in color (like grape juice) and transparent with a foamy pinky-purple head. The head lasts the entire time and leaves delicate, feminine lacing. The aroma is currants with a hint of funk (musty?) and yeast. The flavor is definitely currant all around and it has a moderate level of sweetness. [I also thought that is had some ripe mulberry taste and tartness to it.] The mouthfeel is thicker than expected (like thin syrup), but well received. There is some sparkling sensation on the palate, but it isn’t overdone (light carbonation). It is also very smooth and nice to drink. Overall my wife thought that this was a very good and interesting Lambic. She enjoyed the different and farily uncommon fruit, but didn’t think that the Black Currant was quite as good as the Lindeman’s Peach or Raspberry... Happy Birthday!

Very sweet aroma with a nice berry taste to match. A bit tingly and pretty tasty. One of the better lindman’s beers. RichardGretton (3131), Leicestershire, England Apr 11, 2007 Bottle. Dark purple beer with a light head. The aroma is dulled berry fruits and the flavour is nicely sweet, fruity and quite tart. Overall a nice drink. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Apr 8, 2007 Dark amber with red hew. Fruity blackcurrant all over this. Alcohol is not noticeable at all. Very sweet & a bit synthetic but def. drinkable! Doggythedog (1541), Split, Croatia Apr 7, 2007 Bottle from a shop here in Split The last Lindemans available here in Croatia. Label says 3.5%, but the importer’s sticker says 4%. Odd. Anyway, I don’t like blackcurrant much, so I was a bit reluctant to try this. It poured a deep, nearly black red with the pinkest head Ive ever seen. It’s firm, thick, and went away slowly leaving heaps of lacing and remains. The nose is almost all sharp dusty yeast, with just a hint of underlying fruitiness. The taste, however, shows a surprising lack of yeastiness after that (or not, knowing Lindemans). Light blackcurrant and black grapes with a sharp (for the brewery), but not all that unpleasant, acidic finish that turns into an acidic, long aftertaste, some metal, some weak, weak yeasty funkiness, and that’s pretty much that. Nice enough. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Apr 2, 2007 Bottle 3.5% , this is red in colour, a easy drink that sweet fruit and uncomplex
