jzzbassman (838), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Sep 27, 2005 Big fruit nose, and poured a claret with a pink head with tons of lacking. Flavor was interesting. Unlike a few, I didn’t find this overly sweet. Had a touch of mint and a refreshing tartness. Very enjoyable brandonfisher (16), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 13, 2005 pours a very dark maroon with pink small head. Fruity taste, sweet, more for the people that do not like the beer taste. My initial reaction was that this beer had grapes in from the label, but a further rerad reveals black currants. It was different, but not as good as the other products. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA Sep 13, 2005 Deep red with a pink head a tart musty aroma of black currants. Flavor carries through with enough acidity to balance. Nice earthy feel to it. Not too sweet-some oak qualities appear at the end. Tingly, acidic finish. RAYBOY01 (1813), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 3, 2005 Overly sweetened, cloying so, although the extremely lively carbonation helps cut that defect. Sweet/tart/sour in flavor but all too weird for me. Not at all refreshing. Jukkabro (2983), Tampere, Finland Aug 31, 2005 (ABV 3.5%) Dark red and somehow coppery color, little pink head. Strong blackcurrant aroma. Blackcurrant also strong in flavor, lasts with sourness in aftertaste. Mild carbonation. rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 18, 2005 Deep reddish-purple color, with a soft pinkish-blue head, with a huge intense black currant nose, with a wet woody aroma follows through on a medium-bodied sweet black currant palate, with a huge fruity black currant flavor, with a sweet tart and acidic touch in the finish. veronika (410), Sweden Aug 8, 2005 Red with a pinkish head. Aroma from black currant, cherry and vanilla. CVherry flavor, red and black currant. Dry sour finish, very nice. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 3, 2005 pours dark red with a small pinkish head, aromas of fruit, citrus, and sweetness the fruity smell was mostly black currant, the taste was a little overly sweet with some tartness, not a bad brew.
