Just thinking about the aroma makes my tongue pucker a bit. It’s got a very soft start that slowly tightens up the tongue with the lambic tang. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

This beer is really a one note wonder: loads of cassis aroma and flavor, but not much else going on. There’s not much lactic sourness, yeast, orwheat malt character at all. It starts out light on the palate, and gets a little heavy and cloying as time goes on. All of that being said, I like cassis flavor quite a bit, so this wasn’t all that bad for me. dwyerpg (2529), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Much better than the Unibroue Ephemere black currant beer I had; plus, this guy gets better as you go along. Almost makes you think black currants belong in beer...almost. Taste is pure fruit and yeast. Aftertaste is sweet and does get addictive. Sip slow and enjoy. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 4, 2005 Dark red with a pink head. Mild berry aroma, with a lot of sugary notes there. Sticky sweet currant flavour, way too cloying for me. Medium feel, but too sticky. dornoy (680), Lyngby, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2005 Pink head on a ruby red body. It is meant as a sweet beer, and it tastes so. Very nice as apéritif or together with dessert. Very tasty and nice to drink. A dream on a hot day. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 3, 2005 Pours ruby red with a nice layer of persistent pink head. Aromas of pomegranate, pepper, and a strong musky/catty element. Not thick or heavy on the palate, but so lively that it give the impression of a full mounthfeel. Interesting and delicious play between the sour and sweet, leaning toward the sour with sour cranberry and grape skin flavors. Some earthy musky notes here too, that make me think a bit of a Beaujolais-Village. I know, I know, not the most traditional example of the style, very tasty anyway.
