Commercial Description:
Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

bottle, good deep red color with strong pink foam, aroma of sweet berries, flavor is smooth currant and strawberry but doesnt have the staying power of some of their other fruit beers

Pours a beautiful burgundy red with an attractive pink head. The head is thick and full, leaving behind nice lacing. The aroma is strongly of soured berries, sugar, and some interesting earthy qualities, like wood. Tastes of tart and sour currants with some woody & yeasty characteristics. The sweetness is powerful but complimentary to the soured fruit. Finishes again, tart and sour and is yet, nicely balanced. Overall, a very enjoyable beer.

Bottle from BevMo. Pours a reddish purple color with a fizzy pink head. Nose was of tart berries with some sweetness in there as well. Flavor was very sweet with tart dark berry fruits once again.

375 ml bottle- 1997 vintage I think. Pours a bright purple with violet ruby highlights and a thin diminishing fizzy head. Aroma is still very bright and fruity- cassis with a sharp green tomato hint, slight vegetal but extremely sweet fruity and blackberry with the black currant. Flavor is a bit cardboard and stale but still lots of syrupy sweetness, along with lots of still fresh berry cut by a slight stale acidity - still not something Im crazy about from the sweetness, but I was surprised it held up so well after 12 years.

’t Brugs Beertje - September ’08. Appearance: Red to purple. Huge head, pink, rocky and lasting. Aroma: cassis, of course, and other berries. Lightly citric and lactic. Flavor: sweet-citric fruitiness with notes of cassis, blackberries and raspberries. Wheaty background. "Peppery" yeast on aftertaste. Palate: light body, semi-oily texture. low to medium carbonation. Remark: unbalanced sweetness.

Bottle: A dark ruby pour with a large, creamy pink head. Aroma is dry and fruity. Like fruity champagne. Sweet fruity taste with a little tartness and lightly dry. Pace yourself, this is very easy to drink.

Gorgeous burgundy color with plenty of bubbles. Deep fruity aroma, clearly lots of currant but also oak. Tingly mouthfeel. Definite sour aftertaste but that’s a plus as it starts out fairly sweet. Enjoyable’

Strong, fruity, grape aroma. Thin, purple white head. Has the texture of champagne. Very sweet at first, slightly sour aftertaste. I wouldn’t drink it all the time, but it’s an interesting diversion.
