COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

Beautiful red color. Small head despite high carbonation. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Initial taste of cherries. Very classy and refreshing overall.

This is the first one I’ve rated, but I love Lindeman’s fruit beers. Great purple colour with a thin white head. The aroma is solid black currants, but fresh. The flavour is all fruit and sweet, but with a refreshing tartness. The fairly high carbonation also helps to offset the sweetness.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2004 Colour of blueberry juice with an intriguing purple head. Some of the most complex lacing I have seen. Not nearly as turbulent as other Lindeman’s brands. Tart! Wow! Really tart! Quite refreshing, but I feel it could use a bit more sweet or sour to balance the tartness. Very dry finish.

While hardly my favorite from this brand, it is a fine beer. I don’t know if I ever had a black current on its own but this tasted a little like prunes. As I only like prunes ok it was the last beer I tried by these guys that I could get a hold of. While I am not knocked out it was a very good beer much better then your average brew. When ranked against most beer it is better but against their other product it is not quite as good. Still if you like fruit beer this is another good one.

This bottled capped and corked brew poured a medium sized head of slightly purple colored mostly diminishing bubbles of fine to medium size. The body was transparent carbonated and brown in color. It had a mild sour grape aroma and a smooth slightly tingly sour initial mouth feel that mellowed in the finish. It had sour grape.

Red with small reddish head. Strong blackcurrant aroma. Sweet blackcurrant flavor with a sour mouthfeel. Mildly sour aftertaste. Like drinking Grandma’s homemmade blackcurrant juice.

Beautiful dark red colour w. small head. A shitload of black-currant, sweet, will appeal to many non-beer drinkers.

It seemed to retain more of it’s lambic character than the other Lindemans that I have tried. Pours a very dark purple with a medium sized pink and peach colored head. The aroma is deep musty moss with grape juice, currants and lemons. The tastes starts very sweet like grape juice. The lambic then comes out as it warms. I detected a little sourness, raisins and leather. This kept it interesting.

Nice plum color with lively pink head. Nice aroma of sour berries. Flavor to match the aroma, a little yeasty, but wow tons of carbination. What a great way to start a hot summer day.

Earthy, zesty aroma, I assume the berry is curant - very nice. Wine like appearance - ruby red with a matching head. Sweet and sour flavor with the curant playing a prominent role. Mouthfeel is a bit too sticky - kind of coats your tongue like toothpaste - my only complaint - otherwise a very good lambic.
