| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours with a vile, pink cream puff of a head over a dark, merlot colored body. Aroma is surprisingly not nauseating, cassis, and a bit of soil, plus attic, but not sour, a bit of various other berries including cherry and raspberry. Taste is berry, dirt, metal, meat, crap, sugar and soil. Cloying. Sticky mouthfeel from so much sugar. bb (2976), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2006 Bottle. Purplish color with a light pinkish head. Fruity (currant) and sweet aroma. Sweet, fruity, slightly tart flavor. Easy drinking. Sweet, but has decent tartness. Not bad for what it is. Enjoyable. JK (2968), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2006 This is very nice. The dark red beer with pink foam promises a sweet drink. The aroma does have some yeast and even some barnyard weirdness. Flavor is sweet for sure, lots of sugar and fruit juice, but this is also the most sour of the Lindemans fruit lambics. It is OK for a beer to be sweet, and this is an excellent dessert beer. beerbuzzmontreal (2945), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 19, 2005 Pours a dark red color with a thin pink head. Sweet but somewhat unpleasant aroma of black currants. Unpleasant flavor of black currants, it’s much to sweet. skortila (2915), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 16, 2005 Aroma of berries, sweet and artificial. Cloudy, dark red coloured with a lasting, medium punk head. Taste is sweet siruppy, fruity (berries) and a slight sour finish. Sticky beer with a more dry finish. 5000 (2900), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2005 Bottle: Deep ruby, large pink foamy head, lovely lacing. Strong, and very fresh, aroma of black currants. Sweet, yet somewhat tart black currant flavor. Very well balanced. Great body, very flavorful, and quite smooth. Fruity tart finish, with an underlying sweetness. Somehow Bottleworks ended up with the European version as it has a different label and very little english. Great stuff!!! According to the Bottleworks employees this stuff is much better than the stuff imported here, seen in the picture on the left.   A delicious mistake somewhere along the distribution line.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 14, 2007 In short: An overly sweet blackcurrant lambic. Good at first but quickly becomes sickening
How: 375ml Bottle, 6 months old
The look: Dark purple body topped by a long-lasting medium pink head
In long: Aroma of sweet blueberry muffin. Taste is sweet and sugary and it really kills the Lambic. Blackcurrant and blueberry flavours abound. A little woody. Overall impression of a blackcurrant-flavoured candy. Light sourness and moderately acidic. Full body. At first I was pleasantly surprised by this one (I really don’t care for the sweetened Lindeman’s products). The first few sips were a 3+. But the more I drank it the more the sugary sweetness became sickening and finally I had a hard time finishing my 375ml bottle. However it made me realize that using blackcurrants in a lambic is a great idea and I wish one of the “serious” lambic makers (Cantillon, 3F, etc.) would make one. A blackcurrant lambic could be a classy and tasty beer but this one is made by the wrong company. The beer equivalent of McSurf&Turf. after4ever (2859), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2008 12-oz. Corked, capped, and foiled. Pours deep purply black with a thick and fizzy dark pink (mauve?) head that settles quickly to sudsy filmy and sticky lace. Dusty, dark fruity nose--either you know what black currants smell like or you don’t. That’s what this one smells like, along with some dust. Medium, sticky, surprisingly not-so-very-fizzy body. Sticky, bold, freshly fruity mid-palate with a long puckery tart finish. It’s a heck of a long way from the tartness of the big sours, but it’s got that fruit tartiness to it.
