Loads of blackcurrents in the nose. Sweetness with a nice sour twist is present. Flavour is quite complex, though the berries are dominating again. There is a balanced sour sweetness. Is quite refreshing and full bodied. Ends on a mainly sweet fruity note, but again the sourness is balancing the sweetness quite good. Nice one. MoritzF (5130), Bochum, Germany
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2008 (25cl bottle) Cloudy, murky red colour with a short reddish creamy head. Slightly sweet and moderately sour nose with distinctive notes of black currant. Sweet and sour flavour, light bodied with a pleasant carbonation. Cassis-fruity taste that covers almost everything else but which is furthermore never artificial nor tangy; slighty sweet, moderately tart cassis-fruity finish. All in all not bad (09.03.08). Aroma of black-currant and some sweetness. Sweet flavor with berries and some sour notes. Quite sweet in the mouth. Medium body. The Festivities: Prickly black currant skin covers the flavor spectrum with its heightened sweetness. Straightforward and perhaps pleasant on a hot summer afternoon.
Transcendence: I have a hankering for popsicles once in a while. ¾ (5012), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Very thick and syrupy on the mouth, and very tart on the tongue. Aftertaste of oregano is unpleasant, and overall it leaves my mouth very dry. Friends with me tonight described it as cough syrup, steak sauce and vodka. Cornfield (4981), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 3, 2005 Once more, I’m missing the allure of a fruit lambic. This pours a deep burgundy color with a tall, creamy pink head. The aroma is very fruity, of course, and somewhat tart. It’s got a fizzy mouthfeel and tastes like sweet/sour currants. Finishes on a tart, fruity note. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 6, 2003 Deep cherry/mohagany color with a pink/beige dense head. Strong aromas of fruit: Blackberries, blueberries, cranberries and currants. Additional strong nose of goldenrod in the fall, I could nearly sneeze. Sweet tart berry flavors. Really is quite crisp and clean in the finish. This shall be the brew with dinner this thanksgiving.
