COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

Great desert beer but not too sweet like some of the other fruit lambics. Best enjoyed in the fall.

Aroma: blackcurrant, and really not much else. Appearance: hazy, dark purple, off-white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: intense blackcurrant again, some tart. Overall: one-dimensional Fruit Beer, not really my thing. Bottle at The Dove, South Hackney.

Dark red body with a light rosa head.
Rich black currant aroma and flavour. Very little malt. Rather sweet taste with no bitterness but a fair amount of sour, citrusy notes.
Light/medium body with smooth mouthfeel and soft carbonation.

This may not be a real lambic beer to some, but I really like the intense fruity character. Not complex but still very tasty, and black currants are wonderful.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy, dark red with a large, frothy, long lasting, pink head that leaves plenty of lacing. Sweet aroma of black currants, yeast and a hint of oak. Sweet flavour of black currants and sugar with a tart, acidic, dry oaky finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation.

Bottle, tasted three years ago. One of best of lindemans sweetened fruit lambics, but still pretty flat in complexity cous sugar.

0.25 l bottle from ’Sterk Avondverkoop’, bottled in June 2015. Clear, deep red with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, pinkish head. Sourish-fruity, slightly sweetish aroma of black and redcurrant, elderberries and hints of wood and sorbet powder. Very sweet, slightly sourish, fruity taste of sorbet powder, elderberries, red and blackcurrant, followed by a short, sweetish-sourish finish with hints of wood. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent and astringent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Definitely one of the better non-authentic fruit lambics by Lindemans, but the excessive, rather artificial sweetness is still too much for me.
