Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

Great desert beer but not too sweet like some of the other fruit lambics. Best enjoyed in the fall.

Poured from a bottle. Medium purple color, medium frothy pink head. Sour fruit aroma. Medium body with a tart berry flavor and a medium lip smacking finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

250ml bottle. Pours dark ruby purple with pink frothy head which thins out but remains throughout. Lovely aroma of blackcurrant (obviously) and red wine. Very similar taste to a blackcurrant cider, but with that distinctive lambic sourness. Very sweet, tart fruit flavours with a dry sour finish. Very tasty.

Shared bottle. Dark ruby with thick head. Aroma of black currant, wood, leaves. Taste ia sweet, dry, almost like black currant juice, with some acidic notes but not sour at all. Great.

Kolor bordowy, ciemne czerwone wino. Piana niewielka, ró?owa, niezbyt trwa?a, topniej?c pozostawia na powierzchni delikatny ko?uch. Aromat to oczywi?cie czarna porzeczka, plus wytrawne, winne akcenty z odrobin? kurzu z piwnicy.

25 cl. bottle poured in to a Flute. Lovely, deep red colour with a dense, creamy pink head. Sweet aroma with black currant, yeasts, a discrete wooden note, sugar and black currant juice. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a lively carbonation. Rather good for a 3.5 % beer. Finishes dry and slightly acidic with black currants, juice and sugar. Tart enough to be refreshing - not sticky at all.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 24.03.15. Dark red to violet. Dense pink head and lacing. Very strong aroma of fine blackcurrant juice. Exceptionally well balanced with moderate sourness in taste. Very quaffable. Superb!!!

Small bottle from Sip in Tallinn. Pours a beautiful dark red with a pink head. The head drops fast but leaves a nice layer and some dense lacing. On the nose it’s just like freshly opened blackcurrant jam, it’s also got a woody note. High acidity, very (fruity, not sugary) sweet. Fresh blackcurrant taste. Body thick of sweetness, the high carbonation helps cut through it, I really-really like it, I consider this a perfect Saturday afternoon (hangover) drink. This, together with the apple version (which I enjoyed even more).
