"Pure" blackcurrant nose, like cassis-sherbet or cassis-icecream. Slightly sweet nose. Again, cassis-ice like taste, but with a good sweet-sour balance, nearly tart. Taste is less aritificial, candisweet-like than the nose. Palate remains too sweet, though. Virtually no indication of lambic, the acidity is purely fruity in character, like citric acid. Tart, mouthfeel not light. Dry-out effect on the teeth and gums. This is a perfect soft drink for somewhat larger children. IMO, it's not beer, and doesn't deserve the name lambic. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2005 3,5% ABV. Pours unclear deep red colored with a solid pink head. Aroma of Ribena, black currants with mint tones. Flavor is very heavy also of black currants again with that funny tone of mint. Good sourness in the end. A nice and refreshing beer, but more like a fruit beer than a lambic! Quite impressive for a 3,5% beer! BeerandBlues2 (3237), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

Aroma is strong of oak and then mint with hints of grass and malt. Flavor is fruity and tart with a mint finish. Palate is fizzy and the tartness makes your mouth water. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

Nose is dark berries and hints of yeast. After mellowing, the flavor is a nice mellow, dark berry sweetness with wheat beer characteristics. Pretty good. SledgeJr (3005), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Aroma was a serious smell of wild mint. Why and how? The grape flavor is strong, but currants are distinctly present. Tartness and sweetness is experienced in each mouthful. Not my favorite of the litter. Finish very dry. tobias (155), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2005 Smells like freshly cut vines, which is a tad bit strange... Nonetheless, this is quite a nice ol’ brew. Sour and sweet, with emphasis on the sour. I have never tasted a currant, so I couldn’t begin to tell you how closely this brew resembles one. Good stuff. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 21, 2004 Pours red with a pink head. Very fruity aroma with a faint malt background. First taste is very tart--the rest mellow out very nicely. Good, but the Framboise is better.
