dark reddish-purple, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (light
bread),
with notes of cassis, blueberries, hint of medicine. Flavor is
heavily sweet,
heavily acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic. Medium
body, creamy (almost syrupy) texture, lively carbonation, heavily
astringent. Pretty sweet, but the high acidity makes the flavor balance
better than many/most of the other Lindeman’s fruit lambics. Aroma is
less like soda/candy as well, but still a bit medicinal. Quite
astringent, though (my gums and cheeks went numb after only a few sips). heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2004 It seemed to retain more of it’s lambic character than the other Lindemans that I have tried. Pours a very dark purple with a medium sized pink and peach colored head. The aroma is deep musty moss with grape juice, currants and lemons. The tastes starts very sweet like grape juice. The lambic then comes out as it warms. I detected a little sourness, raisins and leather. This kept it interesting. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 12, 2005 Blackish purple-red w/ creamy dark pink foam. Sweet, blackcurrant aroma w/ an underlying grape-like tartness. Light, sugary, juicy body. Very sweet blackcurrant flavour gives way to a light tannic tartness. Finish is dry & mildly acidic finish. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2003 This "beer" tastes distinctively like currants, which I quite enjoy - BUT I realize I don't quite have the palate for these Lambics yet. Very tart/sour, and I can see how this would go nicely with cheese (like a wine), but I was taken by surprize by this one, and will have to try one more in the future. It's just a tad sweet, and it has a PINK head! ¾ (5011), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Very thick and syrupy on the mouth, and very tart on the tongue. Aftertaste of oregano is unpleasant, and overall it leaves my mouth very dry. Friends with me tonight described it as cough syrup, steak sauce and vodka. Saarlander (1589), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2007 Bright purple-red color--pinkish purplish, frothy, bubbly head. Sweet-and-sour cherry-like aroma with some musty, woody elements. Cherries and sour grapes dominate the flavor profile. Pretty overwhelmingly sweet and somewhat one-dimensional. Not bad, but not something that’s worth going back to again and again. I felt like I was drinking a fizzy sour grape juice, which is pretty good, but not an ideal trait in the world of Lambics. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2009 Grape purple with a pink foamy head. Strong tart fruit aromas, like a grape lollipop, with plenty of earthiness and wood. Sweet and sour grape dominates the flavors, with a clear sense of yeast present and a slight mintiness. Champagne-like body and carbonation, a pleasant candy-like aftertaste. Like the Kriek, probably not something to have very often, but nice to have on occasion.
