Lindemans Cassis is a lambic made from local barley, unmalted wheat, and wild yeast. After spontaneous fermentation the lambic is aged in oak. Black currants are added creating a secondary fermentation and yielding an ale of exceptional flavor and complexity.

375ml bottle. Pours a deep reddish-purple, with a large crimson-tinged head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma is mainly sweet blackcurrant, with some sour notes lurking in the background. To be honest, it smells mainly of Ribena. The taste is, thankfully, much more pleasant. It is quite strongly sour to begin, with some faint woody notes leading into sweetly fruity blackcurrant set against a nicely sour background. The fruitiness of the blackcurrant comes through more strongly in the finish, and there is a pleasantly sour aftertaste. I find fruit lambics can be a bit hit and miss; it really depends on the fruit. Blackcurrant seems to work pretty well with the sourness of the beer itself, although it does rather dominate the aroma. All in all, however, this is a very pleasant beer.

Rosey purple hue with a thin foamy light pink head. Lovely tart boysenberry/blackberry nose that’s full of berry juice and sugars. Sugary flavor that’s gently tart and berry-ish, loads of blackberry and boysenberry, sweet yet lightly tart and lightly sour. Delicious. A bit sugary but delightfully tart.

Aus die Flasche in Poznan getrunken. Die Cassisnoten dominieren alles: Aussehen, Aroma und Geschmack.

20.10.2016 - Lambic sourness paired with sweet sour cassis. Lambic taste is not choked totally by cassis.

Bottle at hopaholic. Deep purple colour small pink head. Nose is cassis. If I smell careful enough i can also feel the lambic, but they go very well togeher. Ripe, deep cassis. Taste is medium sourness, dry cassis taste. Very nice and refreshing, just what i wanted.

Dark purple pour with light pink foam of very fine bubbles. Head falls quickly releasing woody fruit aroma. Taste is pleasantly sour with a slight peppery fruit edge. Light bodied with average carbonation. Mouthfeel has only a slight astringent dryness which coats the tongue - very much like a red wine in this way. Has a dry, sour finish that is short lived in duration. Very likeable sipper.

Bottle/draught. Dark red/purple in colour, purple head. Aroma and taste of blackcurrant, moderately sweet with light tartness. Medium body, quite oily texture, soft carbonation and sweet-tart finish. Really nice even though it is sweetened there is light sour note. Definitely the best from sweetened Lindemans lambics.

Lane. Aromat domowego soku z czarnej porzeczki. Dość słodkie, trochę kwaśne. Słodycz za bardzo dominuje.
