Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Alston, MA. Clear yellow with thin white head. Aroma is sweet. Taste is also sweet but with a hint of corn and cough syrup. Not bad but wouldn’t drink again. Shared with AirForceHops.

Draft @ Sunset Grill and Tap, Alston, MA. Served in a flute. Poured a deep amber-red, almost brown with head that had good retention and nice lace. Slightly carbonated. Aroma was a mix of wild yeast, esters and sugar. Initial flavor was slightly tart with some sweetness. Sweetness seemed to come though much more as it got room temperature. Lots of a berry flavor. I like it and will seek out a few more of this style since this was my 1 st.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 doublebock (331) - California, USA - JUL 10, 2011
Transparent light amber color with thin layer of white head. Sour aroma of champagne and cork. Sweet cotton candy like malty flavor with nice cherry tartness. Could use some additional carbonation.

In my search to get the award for all styles, i had to try this lambic as i am not a huge fan. I bought a bottle to share with a couple friends who all enjoyed it. I thought it was very sweet with a good flavor of sugar and candy.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Naka (630) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 8, 2011
Pours clear amber color with a very fizzy and quickly disappearing off-white head. Aroma is very sweet with some fruity, almost raisin-y funk. As I anticipated, the funk is pretty mild compared to a lot of lambics. Flavor is malty with a sort of apply cider character to it. A little sour bite, but pretty mild. A slight spritz to it. Has an interesting finish to it. Not necessarily dry, but something like it? A very faint bitterness too. I’m actually pleasantly surprised, as I haven’t been a huge fan of a lot of the Faros I’ve tried.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 crazyvin (1536) - New York, USA - JUL 8, 2011
Poured a mostly clear amber-red color with a nice white head that had good retention and nice lace. A slight carbonated appearance. Aroma was a mix of wild yeast, esters and sugar. Initial flavor was slightly tart with some sweetness. Sweetness seemed to grow slightly strong not enough to dominate the tartness but enough to give the beer some edge. Beer seemed to have a thin mouth feel, but actually coated the palate. Nice.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 lithy (2913) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 7, 2011
I don’t know why, but I associate the colors on the label with the color of the beer for the Lindemans beers. So this did not pour black, but rather brown-red with a whitish cover. Aroma is lightly tart, but largely sweet, caramelized malt. Taste is light liquid sugar. Lots of sugar, there is a light acidity trying to fight through, but it fails. Not bad, but largely devoid of any depth.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Barrios (1243) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 2, 2011
Pours an amber-copper body with a lasting beige head. Aromas and flavors of a Red Delicious Apple, some bereft notes. Slightly sour. Finish has a tea note.
