It’s made from malt, wheat, hops, water, yeast. Candy sugar is added before the bottling takes place. It is a clear, light red colored faro lambic with a small, creamy head.

355 ml. bottle. shared with Gabe. Pours a thin off white head of short duration, over a clear, amber (SRM 10) body....nose is light funk, light grape, hint of raisin, slightly musty....taste is light sweet to start, becoming, lightly sour, bit of tartness, finishing with a musty sweetness, reminiscent of raisin...mouth feel light of medium, carbonation low. This meets its style and is, although sweet, is nicely complex. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Bottle 375ml. Great aromas, a bit too sweet for me. Aromas of grapes, apple, honey, and cheese. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and long length. Palate is velvety, with a medium body, and high carbonation. Amber, bubbly, with a thin head.

So adding sugar to a sour beer turns it into a completely different monster. I hate to say it, but, with a sweet Lambic like Faro, the beverage ends up tasting remarkably like a wine cooler. I’m sure this declaration sounds like heresy to many a soul, but Lambics whose only trait is that they’ve been sweetened to soft drink levels are not my cup of tea. Smells great, looks decent, very thin mouthfeel, even for a sub 5% beer. Glad I can tick this style off the chart and move on.

First there’s foil, then there’s a cap, then a cork. What are they taking such pains to protect? It starts out similar to other lambics in its sourness. The finish is what varies, with some sweetness, some caramel. Lots of flavor, and it’s a bit like jamming your mouth wit a random mix of hard candy (at least one a green apple jolly rancher). I think the mouthfeel is just right for a refreshing, warm weather drink.

Bottle. Clear amber with small off-white head. Flavour is malt, sweet, little sour, little tart, fruit and syrup.

07.07.2011. 0,25l bottle in Paris. Aroma is sour with very fruity flavours. Very refreshing beer with good flavours! This beer has a lot off the same flavours as a white vine. There is also maltyness, malt sweetness and there is this vinous flavour from the yeast. Very very very good beer!

Sugary sour beer. A very nice, for me, alternative to a summer beer -- the lack of added flavoring (aside from the sugar), takes advantage of the refreshing qualities of the style.

Un buon inizio per entrare nel mondo dei lambic. Il gusto dolce tagli bene l’acido classico delle lambic. Da consigliare a chi vuole approcciarsi ai lambic senza traumatizzarlo con qualcosa che può sconvolgere.
