From the little Faro I had this was not my best. A lot of sugar and barley. Looked nice, brown colour with no head. Smelled like barley, tasted barley cereal and sugar. Average mouthfeel. Drinkable with a good lunch.

I’ve always passed up this brew in store but since I want try all styles finally bit the bullet. This beer stunk up entire apartment the begged me to pour down drain. It pours clear amber withbwhite head. Tastes of white grapes, grass, medicinal, and tons of rock candy. Way too sweet for my tastes if I have another faro I’ll hope to split with someone

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2012 Nose is winey, earthy with hints of raisin and wood. Clear, light reddish brown in color. It is briny, fruity, bittersweet with notes of apricots, pear, apples, and grapes. It has fruit pit tones and mild caramel maltiness, but dry. Tart, dry, and drinkable on the finish; nice bitterness. Thin palate helps amilerate the sour notes aiding consumption. Overall, pleasant sour character; strong but clean finish. A fruity sour joy to drink, but not great for having more than one of. Truly enjoyed the brew and it was far more complex than I was expecting, yet it didn’t come together as well as I would have liked.

Bottle from cerveceria internacional, seville, spain. Red/orange/amber color. Very thni head. Medium to high sweetness. High carbonation as it was expected. Fruited and water aroma.

375ml. Pours a thin light brown/dark amber with out much head. Aroma of caramelized sugar, coffee, lemon, toffee and some crazy acidic tartness. Light bodied, yet really sweet, this beer tastes like someone poured packets of sugar in the raw in a gueuze, which is what I guess what it practically is. Super sweet, yet still slightly tart. Interesting.

Bottle. Clear, golden tan in color with a small white head. Funky aroma with a bunch of yeast and wheat present as well. First sip, and I have realized that faro is my least favorite of the lambic styles. Shit is sweet! Fruity, candy sugar is predominant in the flavor, and finishes nice and tart. The tartness in the finish makes me want more, but the sweetness that comes before it is really tough to take.

Another first for the evening for me in the new year; a faro-style lambic! LIndemans was again the brewery that benefited from my first taste of this style. Their faro poured an amber color with rich and creamy beige head. The head left some nice lacing at first, but not much after the first couple of sips. The nose was really fruity and yeasty, with some cherries, blackberries, earth, leather and rye bread notes. The mouthfeel was spritzy and well-carbonated. The flavors were a nice combination of sweet, sour and tart, with some fruity notes of cherries and berries. I also got some bitter and sour tones. The beer finished very tart and a bit on the sour side. This beer was very refreshing and enjoyable.

12oz bottle in a flute. Pours amber with a fluffy, light beige head. Aroma of spicy yeast, light fruit, some sweet tarts, the candy sugar, and light hops. Flavor about the same, but it’s really sweet. Bubbly. A decent beer.
