Aroma of sour apple, candi sugar and considerable musty leather in the nose. Appearance is cola like with thin white head. Flavor matches the nose, with the leather tones subdued, appearing mostly in the finish. Palate is creamy and bubbly. My first faro, and enjoyable.

Pours dark amber with a rocky head. Aroma is fruit, primarily cherry. Taste is tart, with a sweet edge, mostly balanced but a bit towards sweet. Refreshing, pleasing, quite a nice beer. I don’t get a lot of Bret in there but it is present.

12 oz capped and corked bottle purchased at The Wine and Cheese Place in St Louis, Missouri. L C09 JFA on the label. Served straight from the wine celler at 55 degrees. Opens with a small pop of the cork. Pour is mostly clear amber copper with a bubbly two inch off white head that settles down with some light lacing. Aroma is mild/light funk, cilantro, amd some cherry sweetness along with additional candi sugar sweetness. Taste is the candi sugar sweetness right away, yielding a touch to cherry fruit and finally displaying a very minimal amount of yeast and funk. Pretty sweet, but a natural sweetness. Palate is medium to light bodied, sparkly carbonation and a lingering sweet finish.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Caseys_Beer (2) - Pine Bush, New York, USA - OCT 16, 2010 does not count
Intial aroma is that of Malted hops, with an almost funky stale smell. It pours a golden amber color, with a thin retaining white head. Initially a cirtus sugar blend but is quickly followed by a smooth honey finish with hints of cider and apple. The after taste leaves you with a mouthfull of cider and sweets. Overall this is a refreshing lambic. It is smooth sweet beer not to be overpowered by the citrus taste. Would deffinatly try again.

31st December 2005 Early amateur rating warning! Fantastic fruity beer, generic fruit flavours, sweet but sourish as well. Yum!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Elwood (1834) - Between a rock and a hard place, Virginia, USA - OCT 11, 2010
Serving: 375 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors.
Aroma: I know this is going to sound odd, but it smells like the inside of someone’s shoe mixed with candy sugar.
Appearance: It pours an amber-brown color with a thin white head. Lesser head retention.
Taste: The best way I can describe this one is to say it tastes like a packet of the sweet and sour sauce you get with your Chinese takeout. There is a little apple cider, perhaps a touch of orange peel, and a definite sweetness.
Palate: Light to medium body with average carbonation leading to a lingering sweet finish.
Overall: Well, I can say I have this category ticked off, but I can’t say this brew is one I would go back too. It’s not bad, it’s just not my style. If you haven’t had a Faro, this may be your only shot if you live in the states. Go get it you ticker.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 cpetrone84 (623) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 10, 2010
A-pours a hazed dark cider color with a dark tan colored thin bubbly head.
S-the nose has some earthy tones to it as the sweetness takes over, a slightly artificial cherry dominates with touches of sugar and honey.
T-the taste is even more singular, very light earthy tones an almost all sweetness with a slightly artificial taste. nothing offesnsive, loads of red cherries with touches of sugary honey and notes of cider.
M-medium syrupy body that doesn’t have the carbonation to back it up, extremely juicy throughout but no driness what-so-ever.
D-extremely simple and straightforward, very sweet and somewhat artificial. exactly what was expected, would be enjoyable by anyone that likes lindemans.
