It’s made from malt, wheat, hops, water, yeast. Candy sugar is added before the bottling takes place. It is a clear, light red colored faro lambic with a small, creamy head.

Bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Medium brown hue, murky clarity with mostly diminishing white fizzy head. No lacing. Sweet light fruit, grapes, cherry and some light spice aromas. Sweet bitter dark fruit (prune) up front with more of a dry licorice (after the first taste) and sour fruit (rest of the experience) finish. Light carbonation on the palate. I would drink it again.

Hazy brown body, minimal white head. Totally weak smell of lemongrass. Starts off very sour, an intense taste of brown sugar follows. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. It kind of tastes more like a fresh lemonade than like a beer, but still: delicious stuff.

Poured a dark amber colour with a thin head. Aroma is of sweet sugars, note of cranberry and sour yeast. Flavor is an astringent sour mixed with lemon, cranberries and brown sugar. Sweet and sour mix is well balanced. Medium bodied with light carbonation leading to a sweet finish.

The bottle looks very festive and it is big, and that’s good because the beer is very good as well!

Aromat: charakterystyczny dla piw kwaśnych z przysłowiową końską derką i lekką stęchlizną na czele. Sporo estrów (głównie wiśnie), nieco słodyczy i odrobina zleżałego chmielu. Barwa: pomarańczowa w kierunku czerwonej, klarowna. Piana biała, lekko zabarwiona, początkowo obfita, ale niemal natychmiast opadająca do cienkiej obwódki przy ściankach. Smak: wyraźna kwaskowość, niemal wykręcająca język, jednak dość szybko kontrowana sporą dawką słodyczy pochodzącą z kandyzowanego cukru. Do tego nieco drewnianych nut beczkowych. Średnia pełnia, niskie nagazowanie, cierpkie odczucie w ustach i lekki alkohol na finiszu. Klasyka.

Bottle at home. Pours a brownish amber with no real head. Aroma is sweet fruit and lemons with some slight funk. Flavor is strange, tastes like someone took a half empty jar of strawberry jam and filled it up with vodka and then squeezed a lemon into it. That’s it. Very sweet and sticky mouthfeel. After almost 2300 beers this is my first Faro and I’m not sure what to think. Drinkable, but I wouldn’t seek this out. Need to try others for comparison.

On tap at Poechenellekelder, Brussels. Light celery and sour brown sugar aroma with faint banana. Hazy bronze under a lasting, bubbly off-white. Sweet and sour flavour with balance toward sweet. Caramel candy flavour with faint pickle juice and green apple. Very low, woody bitterness. Medium body, very low carbonation, smooth yet with a little mouth pucker.

bottle from trade with bartlebier, thanks Frank. copper color, hazy, small white head. smells sour, fruity, pears, cherries, light funk. medium to full body, quite sweet, honey, some fruit notes, some berries, grapes, light sourness thats hidden under all the sweetness, overall a bit sweet ciderish taste. sweet light fruity finish. quite heavy sweet for the 4.5% ABV. decent, a bit too sweet for me.
