Bottle. Pours a clear light amber with quickly disappearing white head. Nose of sweet and funky. Taste is sweet candy sugar, mixed berry, light funk, mild sourish, apple, but a tad too sweet for me. Not bad but by the end was getting harder to drink.

12oz bottle to tulip. Moderate funk aroma. Amber brown. Free of sediment. This is quite similar to a sweet champagne but with a slightly funky finish.

250 ml bottle from supermarket.
Dark amber to brown, moderate hazy body, with a tiny, frothy, white head.
Aroma of yeast, barnyard, sour fruits, earth, sugar.
Taste is very sweet, sugary, with sour fruits, earth, barnyard and a slight dryness from the background, merging into some salty effect.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes sweet, salty, fruity and a bit dry.

Good. The strong sweetness and the moderate, dry sourness combined lead to a salty impression, which is quite interesting. Otherwise not a beer I would often drink, the sugar is just too dominant for my liking and also disturbs the drinkability in my opinion.

Pours slightly translucent rose/brown with a thin off white head, very small, champagne type bubbles, very attractive. Nose is earthy, yeasty, cheese, leather, a little horsey. Rather sweet, chalky mouthfeel, there is a sourness towards the back but not overwhelming. I love it.

Small 25 cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Dirty bronze pour with a light head. Soda like, sweet sugary, some light bitterness and some very light tartness.

Schuim zakt snel, zalige Faro maar voor mij iets te zoet. Ruim pallet aan smaken, een uniek bier voor de liefhebber.

Kauge (223) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 30, 2014
25 cl bottle from Wine of Galilee in Tallinn (below € 2). Pours a deep golden colour with lots of thin sediment floating, and an off-white head that drops fast to leave a small island of film, then disappears. Nose is sweeeet! And also sour. Surprisingly, I find it quite non-offending, considering it reminds me of cherry yoghurt and caramel candies which I’m not a very big fan of. Behind that there’s some familiar dry dustiness. Very thick palate with a cidery dry mouthfeel, carbonation mediumish or below. Sugary sweet taste with very ripe yellow autumn fruits, with considerable white wine notes. I expected it to have more acidity, but that seems to be buried in the sweetness. This was my first Faro - I quite liked it! Not sure if I’d have survived a bigger bottle though!
