3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
250ml bottle (K Market, Kamppi) BB 2010-11, Drunk 2012-09
Very pleasant sweet aroma, like the ’golden nuggets’ breakfast cereal i had when I was a kid (that probably means there’s some butterscotch). Clear bold rich orange, brief head. Full sweet palate, gentle carbonation. Sweat breakfast-cerealy honey-covered wheat-flake taste. Rather nice. Finish is mostly the sweetness, and to be honest, I shouldn’t give this 4, but it was very nice in the mouth, so I have to. Overall, a remarkably drinkable modern faro, better than some of the more traditional ones I’ve had, to be honest. However, that’s because I think faro is intrinsically a modern sweet thing, not a traditional sour thing. If you want to stick sugars into your old lambics, then do them via the medium of young lambic, and give me a geueze. If, however, you want a luscious sweet drink, then make one of these.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear deep gold with a thin white head. Aroma of wild yeast. Barnyard flavors mostly overwhelmed by candy sugar flavors. A bit sweet for my tastes but pretty nice, nonetheless. Plus this is my 75th beer style to rate, which makes it pretty special.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear very dark amber / reddish hazelnut in colour with smooth body. Nose of something very special, like cherry stones, hops and malt. Taste of cherry stones, lambic-fruit kriek. hay, mild hops and ripe grains. Hints of nuts. Dry but also very sweet finish. This is just a high complex lambic that I really enjoyed and loved to drink. As this is my first Lambic of this style I’m willing to re-rate this beer when I got my hands on another Faro.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Once again a tricky one from Lindemans. You can be used to that sour geuze style, but when you come to the end and a slight sweetish taste and aroma hit you from knowhere you know you have an outstanding beer in front of you. Full of aromas, full of great mouthfeel and with an incredible driniking end.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My first lambic. 25cl bottle. Pours brown-amber with a white fast diminishing head. Bready, sweet sour aroma. Flavour is sweet, yeasty, acidic wine, medium sour until the end.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione soft. Pessima.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. Sour lambic aroma with some sweetness present. Flavour is an abomination - far too sweet with unpleasant earthy elements. I couldn’t finish the bottle.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Chestnut like amber, thin sudsy off-white head, sparce lacing.   Nice tart nose, very wild lambic like, some bright wheaty notes and a bit of sweet fruity vinegar.   Hmmm, a bit sweeter on the tongue than the
nose suggested.   Tart, not sour.   Very light dryness.   Boy sweetness, tartness, and the drying aspect play off each other.   Not as dry or tart as others, on the sweeter side (which I expected for Lindemans).
Body and mouthfeel are average.   Finish has somewhat of an artificial sugary sweetness.   I kinda wish that was a bit duller, and the tartness and dryness to stand out a bit more.   As is its still fairly tasty and enjoyable
to drink.   Pretty much like most other Lindemans, a bit more sweet than others in the style.
