3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
250ml bottle (K Market, Kamppi) BB 2010-11, Drunk 2012-09
Very pleasant sweet aroma, like the ’golden nuggets’ breakfast cereal i had when I was a kid (that probably means there’s some butterscotch). Clear bold rich orange, brief head. Full sweet palate, gentle carbonation. Sweat breakfast-cerealy honey-covered wheat-flake taste. Rather nice. Finish is mostly the sweetness, and to be honest, I shouldn’t give this 4, but it was very nice in the mouth, so I have to. Overall, a remarkably drinkable modern faro, better than some of the more traditional ones I’ve had, to be honest. However, that’s because I think faro is intrinsically a modern sweet thing, not a traditional sour thing. If you want to stick sugars into your old lambics, then do them via the medium of young lambic, and give me a geueze. If, however, you want a luscious sweet drink, then make one of these.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Bruges.pours amber with a cream head. Nice sour start, before a sugary sweet finish. Notes of citrus, sherbet, and some woody flavours. Quite reminiscent of cider. A little over sweet.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very sweet sugary aroma with light barnyard funk aromas. Carb and mouth feel are perfect, if anything the carb is a tad low. The finish is wet hay, touches of funk and sweet sugars. Nice.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at House of Beer, Cracow.
Pours cloudy amber with small head. Great lacing though. Fruity in aroma; lemons, raspberries. Some funky and sugary notes. Very drinkable and quite tasty; fruity (raspberry, strawberry) with some sweetness coming right before dry finish. Pretty sweet.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is fruity and slightly musty. Very light and subtle texture on the tongue with a mild effervescent carbonation. Sweet and sour cherry and raspberry with a crisp light dry finish. Tastes like cranberry juice with seltzer water. Some oak like barrel aging flavors with a hint of unmalted wheat possibly. Sweet beer that would compliment many light meals, but definitely not a session brew..A little too sweet for multiple offerings.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
It was a multi-step process to get the beer in a glass. First you peel off the silver foil protecting the neck of the bottle. Then you pop the cap. And then you pry the cork off. (That is something that I still have yet to master gracefully). Once open it pours an amber orange color with little to no head to it. The initial aroma is simple syrup to me. Also a touch of apple cider Very sweet smelling.
The taste is also extremely sweet. But it is counteracted by a bubbly character and a slight bitterness at the back of the finish. There is a slight hint of tartness tucked into as well. But overall this is not that far removed from an apple cider that uses a more sugary varietal of apple.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Aroma of vinegar, green apples, candy sugar. Flavour is sugary sweetness and tartness. I prefer my Lambic sour and found the added sugar a huge detriment. Perhaps I’m just not a fan of this style.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours out a maroon/brown/purple/red that seems to shift with the light. Thick off-white head that sicks around forever. Funky, herbal, and spicy aromas. It’s got a big sugar presence that reminds me of eating straight-up powdered cider with a spoon (don’t knock it, awesome camping snack). The sugar poured into this provides a delicious counterpoint to the tart and funk. Really smooth and thick mouthfeel. Lingering tangy aftertaste is quite pleasant. Refreshing, tasty, and relatively cheap for the style.
