3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 davey101 (140) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 24, 2011
12 oz bottle poured into a snifter at 45-50 degrees. Picked it up at a store that doesn’t move/order many Belgians, so I would imagine that this is at least a year old. Pours a deep red/purple hue. Small pink head that fades to a good bit of lacing around the edges. Raspberry candies. Not fake crappy ones, but rather a natural raspberry candy made with fresh raspberries. Very strong. Nothing else in the nose that would indicate that this is actually a beer. Taste is very sweet raspberries initially. Then a light vinegar/musky finish. Mouth feel is very crisp, tart and refreshing but the flavor fades pretty quickly. Makes you want to come back for another sip. The flavors are good, but a little overwhelming and one dimensional. Overall I don’t think this beer deserves the amount of hate it gets. Its no cantillon and it is really sweet, but this is a beer that I have found in almost every beer store and its awfully refreshing. It can get a bit overwhelming towards the end, but it makes for a really solid dessert beer. Its worth a try if you’re a raspberry fan.

Ködös rubinvörös színű főzet, közepes rózsaszínű, krémes habbal, édes-fanyar málnás/gyümölcsös aromával és édes bort idéző, száraz befejezéssel, melyet határozott komlós fűszeresség kísér.

Bottle. First tried on tap at Beer Geeks. Wonderfully sweet smelling and tasting. Lots of berry flavor with a bit of tartness. Couldn’t drink a whole mess of this.=)

Pours a nice red with a tall pink head. Very potent smell and taste of raspberry, weird after taste.

25cl bottle. Pours ruby with nice pink head. Aroma is mostly dweet and fruity with some sour lambic/grassy aroma. Taste is mainly raspberry sweetness with just a slight tartness in the finish. Way too artificial.

750ml bottle. Ruby red, no head. Overly sweet almost raspberry syrup, not much finish but a touch of bitter. Just not my thing - prefer sour/tart over sweet.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 adayale (14) - Texas, USA - APR 27, 2011
It was a pretty good lambic. Very champagne like with a nice medium sweetness. Nice fizziness that propels the tartness of this drink throughout the mouth. Pretty good.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Thinker (21) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - APR 19, 2011
A true raspberry flavor that has a nice bitter finish with a sweet finish. Has a very dark purple coloring and almost can’t believe this is not a champagne.
