Pours a pale pink head, over reddish slightly cloudy reddish pink body.....nose is almost entirely raspberry......taste of dry raspberry....light mouthfeel, good carbonation. Although pleasant, it is rather mono-dimensional. Cavie (1369), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Hmm, this one is hard to rate, because the Lambic style is SO different from other styles of beer. It’s sweet and tart, like the taste of sour Skittles. A tasty sample, but not something I would return to. Bontus (301), Waasmunster, Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2009 Updated: Nov 10, 2009Bottle 37.5cl Hopduvel Gent. Pours dark red with a pinkish head. Very sweet aroma’s raspberries, strawberries, ... overall sweet fruits. Flavor is sweet with some tartness. As a beer I should rate this less as it indeed blurs the line between styles. But as a fruit lambic I definitely need to concur its fruitiness. rerate: much better sour/sweet balance. excellent in foodpairings. nickd717 (1327), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 4, 2009 My favorite type of Juice Squeeze! Seriously, does this sweet, fruity concoction with almost no alcohol qualify as beer? It’s really blurring the line. Anyway, pours a deep red color with a pinkish white head. Raspberries heavy on the aroma. Flavor is tart yet sweet, heavy on raspberries with the slightest bit of funk. Medium but a little fizzy on the palate, and seriously - 2.5% alcohol? Really? If this is one of your favorites, then you, chief, are a wine cooler guy at heart. travita (1887), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Red color with a small pink colored head. Smell is fruit, little tartness, fruit juice like, raspberries. Very easy to drink and tastes good. Not really a great lambic. More of a fruit beer. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Deep ruby in color with a pinkish head. Aroma is of raspberries. The taste is of tart red raspberries, like when you pick them fresh when they aren’t quite ripe. mixinnixon2000 (227), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 26, 2009 bottle. Steamboat Colorado. this beer is best mixed with a stout. Left Hand Milk Stout is probably the best. It adds a pinch of fruit and complexity to your beer. aletales (73), , Oklahoma, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2009 To be certain, I am partial to raspberrys. This is so unlike what I expected. I was certain that this was going to be like some american lime beer with a little bit of fruit squeezed in at the end. Nope. Raspberries were everywhere; in the aroma, in the pour, on the tongue. Goodness gracious, it is a good thing I love raspberries. Oh, by the way, some may think of it as a chick drink, but remember, if mama’s happy, you might be too.
