If ever there was a beer that was MADE for dessert, this is it. Very sweet, almost syrupy, with intense (and artificially sweet) raspberry flavor. Fantastic when paired with that PERFECT piece of chocolate cake or even just a bar of dark chocolate, this is to me more an aperetif than a beer.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2007 Definately raspberry. This is one of the first artisan beers I ever experienced and still enjoy coming back to, on occasion. A very attractive, fine beaded, pink foam that retains itself quite well. Raspberry is the only aroma and the flavor is someone one dimensional as well but enjoyable.

Im not an experienced lambic drinker so what do I know? What I can say is that all I tasted was raspberry and very little else.

Ahhh, the good ol days of middle school and during class sucking on jolly ranchers. Yummm!
On the first swallow its a sweet then semi sour blast of flavor. On the second swallow, its a: I paid 5.95 for less than 12 ounces for this? The 3rd swallow is yummy..... This is a good beer for after a huge meal, to cleanse the palate. Its not your chug a chug beer.
Its really good treat yourself to a treat beer.... :) Oh yea, girlys like it too...

UPDATED: APR 22, 2005 Jan 02: Well I love fruit beers, so this was a no-brainer; only question was, would it be just good, or great? Somewhere in between, turns out. Of course it looks great; beautiful raspberry-red translucence, with just a hint of foam; and of course it smelled great (the best part, actually); itís raspberries & vanilla cream wafers and I could smell it for hours. Flavor was a bit less complex than some, but still had enough sourness to balance the razzy sweetness, just the right amount of fizz, and a lovely warming body as it slides down the throat. OK, pretty close to ígreatí. 9/5/8/4/16 4.2
2005: 375 ml bottle sipped thankfully with beerbuzzmontreal, ClarkVV, MartinT, tiggmtl, olivier, Rastacouere and Simon at the Farmhouse Ales and More! tasting in Montreal. Dried bloody-brown red...raspberry jam in the nose, touch of tartness but mostly sugary...sweet, fairly authentic-feeling body, bit of late sourness, some nice fresh grassiness and caramel...still drinkable, but certainly not the great beer it was in my mind...

Sampled this out of the bottle for christmas dinner. Thought it was quite nice. It dodnít have some of the lambic character I remember, but not overly sweet like recent draft tastings. Nice dry astringentcy balanced by crisp rasberry flavor.
