2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Bavarian Lodge (Lisle, IL). Grabbed a rate from the Mrs. bottle. Pours a deep reddish purple hue, well hazed and dark middle, berry and fruit punch hues, pink purple brighter edges and bottom. A pinkish berry hued head dies to a frothy small filmy layer, laces minimally and dissipates almost entirely. Aromas are sweet, raspberry and juicy pulp, just a touch seedy with some sugary sweetness, gentle tartness, faint waft of oak, sweeter candy and suckers start to come out. Lacking complexity and more in the alco-pop range as expected. Initial is sweeter raspberry juice, pulp and sweetness. Juicy candy sweetness, some cherry hints, gentle lemon tartness is overwhelmed by the sugary sweeter fruit juice base. Middle is just a bit darker, mellow body shows some potent coating sweeter juice, raspberry and seedy sweetness. Backend just a faint waft of oak, a bit of tartness back here shows just a little life. The finish still leaves more to be desired, gentle tartness and lingering firm sweet juicy fruit elements make this just not up my alley, a mass produced alco-pop like beverage. Meh.

Deep cherry red pour. Aroma is like a raspberry spritzer, perfumey, sweet raspberry. Sweet body, lots of raspberry flavour. Finish is only a hint tart.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light red color , no head. Aroma of raspberries ( a bit artificial) brown sugar. Taste is quite sweet, no bitterness, light sour. Light body, slick texture, average to lively carbonation. Tasty, but not really a beer.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Presentation: This was part of a box set with a tall fluted glass and one other bottle of Lindemans Pomme. It was poured from a green capped and corked 355ml bottle into the fluted glass from the box set. The label has a description of the beer but there is no freshness date or abv%.
Appearance: The body has a reddish/violet color and good clarity. (Second glass has a little yeast sediment.) It is also full of bubbly carbonation rushing up to the head. Its head is tall and pink in color. Retention is good as it keeps a thin cap until the last sip. The head also leaves some slick lacing on the glass.
Smell: I get funky yeast with heavy notes of raspberry, astringent white wine and pale tangy malt.
Taste/Palate: Right away I get loads of sweet/tart raspberry and tangy sour wheat notes. Deeper in there are bready and dry sour yeast notes moving in to balance the sweetness. It finishes with semi-crisp sweet/tart mouth puckering character. It feels well carbonated and slick. The carbonation helps to left up and move the beer over the palate. My lips and glass however are a bit sticky.
Notes: I really like the raspberry flavor here. It has some interesting tangy and sour notes with plenty of carbonation to keep it from getting overly cloying. Having said that, I still wouldn’t want more than one of these in a sitting.

low carbo . pure raspberrys . i had this pre-ratebeer , and didnt like it cause it wasnt living up to my expectations of raspberry - overkill
maybe the bottle was too old, maybe my tasting buds were fucked up that day . anyhow, i’m glad to redrink this , even though i didnt like it at first .
this IS raspberry overkill, and i like raspberrys . arteficial ? YES. but if you feel like having fluid raspberrys, this will do !

Sour, delicious. Great with a vanilla scoop of ice cream. Have had several times and love it. Excellent all around.
