If Val Blatz had deigned to bequeath to the world a framboise, it would have been like this. Or not. either way, this is one of the finest Raspberry beers that has ever glided across my tongue to abuse my liver. at $6.50 a bottle I would prefer to invest my dime’s into something a wee bit more financially responsible (say Black label, Blatz or Pabst) but for a one-off I am proud to say, "There is no way, no WAY, that you could come from my loins! the 1st thing I’m gonna do when I get home is punch your momma in the mouth!" And that’s how I roll, mein Fuhrer!

Tasted from bottle into tulip glass. Poured a slightly hazy, light pinkish burgundy color with creamy pink foam which dissipates fairly quickly, leaving some Belgian lace. Strong raspberry aroma, no grain or hops, faint yeast/bacteria phenols (though it’s difficult to distinguish the fruity fermentation from the actual fruit.) Raspberry flavor as well, and little else. Slightly tart and sour, but sweetness definitely dominates. Light body, highly carbonated, spritzy mouthfeel, with a lingering fruity aftertaste. A delicious, slightly alcoholic, sparkling raspberry cordial. Well-liked by everyone who tried it, but lower gravity and far less beery/spicy//woody/sour/barnyard than classic lambics. Why IS the alcohol percentage only 2.5%? I paid $10 for a wine bottle, I want a little buzz at least. A good gateway to lambics, nonetheless. Recommended.

Bottle in a pint glass - pours ruby and opaque with pinkish head and mild lacing. Nose is of raspberry couli. Aroma is raspberry and very berry. Taste is tart and sweet, too sweet. Texture is oily and aftertaste is that of raspberry. Great for kids and desert. I don’t get it. Tastes great especially since I love raspberries, but alcohol and so little of it, seems unnecessary. Weird.

Tap. My first Lambic. It pours a sweet red color with a raspberry tinged head. It isn’t really recognizable as beer. The raspberry undertones they refer to are more like overtones. They are not subtle but in your face. It was very good as a drink, though I think I would prefer it if it were a little stronger.

Bottle from craft beer outlet. Pours red, with a pink head. Smells and tastes of nice raspberries. Really good stuff.

Pours ruby red with a huge pink head with some nice lacing in my flute. Smells of ripe raspberries, oak, raw sugar and a little vinegar. Taste of tart raspberries, sweet pastery, earth and sugar. Mouthfeel medium and finishes sugary sweet and tart.

Pours pink with pink head and a sweet sugary light nose. Tastes is all raspberry and sugar with a touch of tartness but not enough to touch the sweet. Straight forward but nice for what it is, more of a raspberry soda than beer.
