RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA Sep 14, 2007 Pours a purplish/ruby with a almost pink tinted head. Nose is strong with raspberries (surprise, surprise). Flavor kicks you in the back of the mouth a bit at first. The more you go on the smoother it gets. There are of course strong raspberry flavors and little else that can compete with such in your face flavors. Feel is thick with flavor and a decent carbonation. Drinkable? Yes. But only if you can appreciate flavor intense creations such as this. I know this is not a "traditional" creation of the style and is almost like a soda in many qualities, but I still think it is good. I have gotten several people to try this, and I know it has expanded their perception of what beer can be. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 13, 2007 25 cL bottle. Pours dark purple/red with a lacing pink head. Sweet caramel raspberry aroma. Citric sweet raspberry flavour. Slight sticky sweet finish with a persisting raspberry fruit flavour. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA Sep 12, 2007 Lindemans Framboise is one of the few beers that is so flavorful that I can almost taste it simply by remembering. After drinking and loving Framboise for years, I finally got to drink it on tap at Papago in Scottsdale (out of a tulip glass!). It was outstanding! The color was an even darker red-maroon than from the bottle and the head was an even creamier pink. The Framboise still had all the tart, obviously raspberry flavors, but with an added smoothness or milkiness as it seemed that there wasn’t as much of a carbonated bite. The finish was a lingering, slightly sour, sugary sweetness. Framboise, especially on tap, is an absolutely beautiful drink in both appearance and taste; it might very well be the prettiest thing you can put in a glass. mtoast (290), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 12, 2007 On tap, numerous times. Bright blood red in color with slightly pink foam, aroma is big huge raspberries. Initial flavor is almost raspberry puree, way too sweet, a little bit of lambic peeks in on the aftertaste but for the most part it’s a pasteurized sugar bomb. blklab2007 (938), Connecticut, USA Sep 11, 2007 bottle poured into a flute, great rush of carbination when first poured leaving a frothy layer on top of the lambic. color is a deep maroon that is hard to see through with haze smell is sweet raspberries, slightly creamy, along the lines of those cream saver candy’s. taste is good fresh berries, slightly tart, and has a full body feel. i buy this for my wife who loves it but it is really refreshing and is one of the better ones i have tried, really good flavor, just enough tartness. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 11, 2007 Updated: Jul 12, 2008355 ml. Opaque brown-purple with a medium-sized, creamy purple-pink head that lasts forever. Aroma is raspberries-n-cream with some electrified ozone. Flavor is the same with some acidic tartness balancing the sweet fruit, and some very subtle bittering on the end. Palate is light-medium bodied, creamy, yet tingly and watery enough to refresh. weeare138 (933), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2007 Appears a crimson toned puple with a pink toned, off-white head that slowly fades into a mild collar. Streaky spots of scattered lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of raspberry syrup, berry yogurt, and an over abundance of sugary corn syrup.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with light oak that seems to be hidden behind the dessert like sugar bomb.
Mouthfeel is syrupy, sugary, mildly tart but still candy like with the heaping serving of sugar that pushes this beverage towards being cloying. footy (334), scottsdale, Arizona, USA Sep 10, 2007 10/18/05 375ml. Red with large red head. Prominent raspberry aroma. Sweet raspberry syrup taste.
