Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Jun 16, 2007 Sampled on tap @ Waldo’s Pizza in KC, MO. How many pizza joints have a lambic on tap? Served in a flute. This is an attractive beer: deep red with a thin pinkish head. The aroma is strong raspberries with a hint of cream. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied, tart and dry. The flavor follows the nose and is big, effervescent raspberries. Quite tasty. This is like a liquid raspberry sorbet. Fresh, flavorful and clean with a tart, palate-cleaning astringency at the end. After jotting down my notes, all the adults at the table wanted a taste. Unanimously, even among the non-beer drinkers and the one Miller Lite drinker (God help her), this beer was a hit. I think I’ll have to grab a bottle or two for the next family gathering. yomintyfresh (53), USA Jun 13, 2007 Very sweet and fruity, but the sweetness isn’t too artificial. Probably the least tart fruit beer I’ve had. Would be great as an accompaniment to dessert or to bring to a party with Arbor Mist-swilling friends, but too sweet to drink by itself. norsedoc (162), USA Jun 8, 2007 Aroma strong fruit. Good sweet/tart balance. Not overly acidic Raspberry lasts in the finish. Great with cheesecake. jeremytoni (1072), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jun 7, 2007 From bottle pours purplish with pink head. Nice tart flavor, very refreshing. Lots of carbonation. Floback (333), Naples, Florida, USA Jun 5, 2007 Poured a pinkish white head. Appearance was dark red. This was very fizzy, tart, and unsatisfying. I like fruit beers, but this was waaay to sweet for me. I felt like I was sucking on candy the whole time. Great for use with desserts, like they do at the Yardhouse. I could handle the taste if I had some vanilla ice cream or pastry with it. cgarvieuk (4160), Edinburgh, Scotland Jun 5, 2007 Updated: Dec 25, 2007Deep opaque Burgandy ... little tart ... lots of fresh raspberry arona ... Like a raspberry juice ... very tasty... but bit over sweet. Hollywoodt (174), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jun 2, 2007 First time trying a lambic. Pours a dark reddish color with a minimal pink head. Loved the aroma... lots of raspberries with other dark fruit. Great raspberry taste with just the right amount of tart. Really good carbonation. Not what I think of when I think beer, but very good nonetheless. Get in my belly! jameswolfe (141), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 1, 2007 I dont think I would classify this as beer myself. It tastes almost exactly like raspberry wine really. But its a nice deep ruby red color and smells like raspberries and not much else. But it does taste very good. Tart raspberries with a lot of carbonation. Interesting. Different.
