hapjydeuce (763), Del Mar, California, USA May 3, 2007 One of very few Lambics Ive ever tried, so Im not quite sure what to compare it to. Deep ruby red color with some lacing and almost no lasting head. Didnt detect much of an aroma here. Flavor is sweet at first, jam packed with raspberries and cherry, that fades with some yeast flavor and a sour finish. Light, crisp and refreshing palate. Nice refreshment beer, but Im not all about the Lambics, but I would like to try more soon. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Apr 28, 2007 Pours murky brown-hued red with no head. Looks like cranberry juice. Strong, sweet aroma of sugary cran-rasberry juice, with a medicinal undertone. Sweet, artificial tasting berry flavors. Medicinal like the others I’ve tried, but not quite as bad. Palate is tart, with some sharp carbonation. Maybe I just don’t like fruit lambics, but I think this (as well as the other Lindemans I’ve tried) are overrated. Rvrndmaynard (47), Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, USA Apr 25, 2007 On tap at Mile Square in Hoboken. I rated this a lot higher than i wanted to, just because i really like to toss a floater of it into Guinness. By itself, the flavor is too overpowering. apingos (77), Rockford, Illinois, USA Apr 24, 2007 Sampled this on tap at The Beer Bistro on 1061 W. Madison st in Chicago. Very sweet and very raspberry. With a world full of great tasting beers why is this considered beer? It was very good tasting but all I tasted was the fruit. I don’t get it. xav33 (313), Midland, MI, Michigan, USA Apr 24, 2007 Lindemans Framboise
750ml bottle
Moderate pour in a stein.
Recent brewing, picked 04/07
Poured a bright hazy pinkish red with a large light pink foamy mostly lasting head with good lacing.
Smelt of strong overall strawberry candy with the strawberry wrapper, parts of raspberry, woodsiness, honey.
Flavor was upfront strong sweet raspberry followed by more strong sweet raspberry and moderate sourness on a long finish.
Palate was light to medium bodied, lively carbonated, rich and moderately mouth puckering.
Overall, I am not a big fan of raspberry beers as a whole, but this was intense and fun to experiment with. Not an everyday beer for me, but excellent flavors and aromas nonetheless.
wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Apr 24, 2007 The beer I hate to love. Is it a beer, or a raspberry soda? Spine shivering nose of raspberries. Pow! Very, very sweet with a tiny bit of pleasant sourness. Great deep ruby color. Everytime I try this I think it’s great, but don’t drink more than half a glassful. Maybe because it is too sweet. What’s the best food to eat this with? tommybomb (5), Brooklyn, New York, USA does not count Apr 23, 2007 This is a very, very sweet lambic. It has only the barest hint of the sour aftertaste that I expect from a proper lambic. This is more like a juice box than a proper beer. labandita (5), USA does not count Apr 21, 2007 YUM!!!! It is sweet. It is tart. It is full of raspberry flavor that hits you with a great strength and then mellows and morphs into something different with time, something floral and sweet. My favorite local bar has this stuff on tap, and I order it every time. The other Lindeman’s lambics are good, but none compare to the framboise.
