Enjoyable but a bit too heavy on the rasberries.

Pours a dark, ruby and beautiful pink foam atop. Smells of raspberries, nice deep raspy smells. I really like the flavor of raspberries and slightly tart with plenty of juicy character and fruit finish. Light syrup with some viscosity that helps the fruit stick around. Nice beer. Exactly as it intends.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a mostly transparent raspberry red with foamy pink head. Smells solid too; like fresh raspberries. Tastes like it smells with a tart mouthfeel. Not funky, but good nonetheless.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle (355ml): Light cloud or haze. Brilliant medium dense red. Nice pink head. Massive lift. Raspberry, candy and leather. Clean but funky. No excessive level of spoilage given style and microflora. Hint of malt and Candy apple. Palate is sweet and sour. Balanced. Little or no bitterness. Good depth of flavor and length particularly given alcohol level. Makes this even more remarkable.
Great lambic. Couple of years since I tried one. Hesitant to start with given possible spoilage and cork taint. Everything a winemaker, who has made wine for the other Lindemans, hates! Wonderful welcome back to the style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours to sizable pink head. Aroma of cream and raspberries; very potent. Taste is more sour and acidic than the aroma indicates - then super tart in the finish. As it sits, the aroma begins to take on the characteristic of the flavor - more sourness and tartness. Can’t really glug this one down, but it’s pretty interesting. One of the more drinkable sour beers for me.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2013 A crisp raspberry aroma with a tart back end as expected. A deep purple color with a pink carbonated head when poured. Taste is similar to aroma with even stronger notes of tartness throughout tongue with a dry but clean thick finish. Overall a great beer for its category and a great note to end the night to complement a bitter or salty dessert.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours reddish purple. Taste sweet, tart, rasberry. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.

Fles bij de 12 balken, Den Burg op Texel. Mooie kleur en roze kraag. Wel iets te zoet waardoor het bijna lijkt op frisdrank.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
75 cl bottle with expiry date 22 Feb 2015. Aroma: home-made raspberry juice, with a distinctive lambic sour finish. Very dark violet colour, minimal violet head (although better than in normal fruit beers). Medium sweetness, medium sourness, no bitterness - definitely not too sweet, sourness dominates this beer. Light body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Good one. I remember another specimen of this beer that was quite sweet and very fuity - this one is much more sour, probably because it’s older.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: deep, ruby red, almost purple with a big, foamy, fuchsia & lavender tinted head that builds up & lasts for a long time. Aroma is intense raspberry, other various berry notes, mild lacto-like tartness, a touch of perfume, & some residual sugars... Jolly Rancher-esque. Taste is authentic raspberry fruit, candy-like sweetness with a little bit of tartness mid-palate. No bitterness, not much funk at all.... more like a raspberry fruit beer than a lambic. Tasty, though possible a little sweet in large quantities.
