thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark May 11, 2008 Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head, fizzes away rather quickly. Aroma is lightly tart, great apple and barnyard. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasantly tart, great vanilla notes, yeast, milky bacteria. Very dry finish.
wyzzywyz22 (244), Wirral, Merseyside, England Jul 26, 2008 Bottle, Barleycorns, Nantwich. Quality label. Poured a hazy orange with a disappearing white head. Aroma packed with apple; citrus, haybale and champagne notes. Beautifully balanced sourness in the flavour which started fruity and tart then mellowed in to a soft dryish finish. Cabronation quite lively but not overpoweringly so. Worked well in the context. Fair bit of lingering sediment. Need to lay a few of these down in the cella. A class act. Chrism86 (17), , Australia Jul 26, 2008 Poured hazy orange/amber with loosely packed white head. Nose is super funky, indicative of the style. Dry grass and hay with some flinty tones. Palate is somewhat surprising compared to my previous lambic experiences. Most notable is the broad flavour profile. Its much the same as the nose but quite tame tartness gives the impression of being fuller, with a long, flavoursome finish. nuplastikk (381), Maryland, USA Jul 21, 2008 750ml corked bottle, 4 years old or so in the bottle. This is an excellent example of a Lambic. Murky, orange-amber color. Sweet, tangy, and tart flavor. Funky farmhouse hay and brutal green apple sourness. It has mellowed in some respects, a little more creamy, but is still in absolute top form and could be aged for several more years. Cider like in some respects. Tons of intense citrus flavor notes. A classic. BoBoChamp (329), Gent, Belgium Jul 21, 2008 75cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex sour gueuze, hazy, good head, good brew MatSciGuy (171), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 14, 2008 [Bottle] Pours a hazy straw gold with a large off white head. Aroma is tart apples, brett, and a little vinegar. Flavor is very, very sour. Some typical lindemans sweetness, apples, and a touch of lemon juice. Very good.
