| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Pours a pale golden buttery color with a quickly dissapting white head. No lacing, just a nice white ring around the top of the beer. Smells really sour with a strong barnyard quality to it. Definitely a bit funky, Bret Funky. The barnyard quality seems to be the strongest quality coming through in the nose. Maybe a bit fruity/citrusy. Definitly sour coming through, a touch of citrus fruits seem to be accessible. There’s that wild side of the yeast coming through in the finish. Interesting and very tasty beer. Savvy1982 (330), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Bottle. Strangely enough, this one has an upside-down label. Pours hazy orangey-gold, with a 1-finger white head that quickly reduces to a very persistent skim. Lacing is in sheets, and patchy. Nose is nice and tart; mild barnyard, fresh, surprisingly sweet apple, mild spice, a bit of cheese, some rather vinous aromas as well. Think past-due Champagne. Palate is light and crisp, nice bready yeastiness and solid tartness. Finish is a bit watery. A good, decent gueuze, which I can get from the corner store. Can’t ask for much more than that. Well... you can... apparently they’re getting Cantillon in February, which means I will be buying less of this after February. craftycarl21 (601), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Hazy peach pour with a massive frothy head and lots of carbonation. Aroma holds straw, grass, barnyard, and horseblanket; not a rude funk, but present, and welcome on the nose. Flavor is quite nice, starting with a mellow nectar and then morphing into a really nice and fairly aggressive shot of barnyard to the tongue. Palate is pretty light, but it’s nice that it’s funky but drinkable. A good gueuze, and definitely the best offering from Lindeman’s that I’ve had so far. poisoneddwarf (225), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2009 750 ml bottle. 2007 bottle. Smells of Sweet Tarts candy. Pours hazy yellow with a nice head which dissipates fairly quickly, nice lacing. Taste is extremely sour. I love all things sour, and this is delicious. Somewhat oily in texture. Lots of carbonation. Finishes sour, dry. Yummy. mspindler (351), Alta Loma, California, USA
