argh. too sour. I know it has its quality but I’m not the one that enjoys it. prefer fruit beer with cherry or framboise if it would be the case too have one like this.

Bottle , pours golden, slighlty hazy with white, unstable head. Aroma of vinegar, apples, barnyard and some hay. Moderate sourness, some barnyard notes followed by light bitterness. Fizzy carbonation, tart aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange body with a small white head. Nose is red fruits, vinegar, citrus, cellar mold, mild stable tones and hints of wine gum, hay and wine cork. Taste is moderate citric tones, hay, straw, pale malts, stable funk and hints of vinegar, wine cork and moist cellar. Slightly watery, thin palate, high, near-fizzy carbonation. Enjoyable, but not quite comparable to geuzes from Cantillon or 3F. A shame they don’t release their unblended (and undiluted) lambic; had a sample at the brewery on last year’s Tour de Geuze and it was really marvellous.

Appearance: clear brassy amber, short, fizzy off-white head, active carbonation. Aroma: big tart and sour nose of white vinegar, green apple, some damp oak, and a bit of funk reminiscent of brettanomyces. Taste: sour green apples, light balsamic, hint of leather, wheat toast, lemongrass, light marmalade. Finish: champagne-dry, slightly acidic and tart, balanced by sweet apples and a bit of cracker. Notes: A very nice gueuze, reminds me of a gose with a fuller body. Surely the styles are related. As usual, Lindemans does not disappoint.

-Backlog- Vintage 2012. Pours hazy golden with white head. Huge aroma of fruity brett and oak. Fruity palate. Aftertaste is also loads of fruit and some funk. Overall: An excellent example of the style. Probably the best gueuze i have tried.

375ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Hazy amber color. Tiny head, stays as a ring. Burnt rubber, plastic, very deep roasted almonds, oily, sweet, olives in aroma. Battery acid, roasted almonds (or maybe I imagine), burnt plastic in taste. I can feel my digestive tract dissolving. And teeth.

375 ml. corked bottle poured in to a Flute. 2013 "Vintage". Hazy golden colour with a slight amber tint. Bubbly, white head that fades to a thin layer. Tart aroma with apples, yeasts, vinegar, lemon peel, light barnyard and a wooden note. Taste is sour. Medium body with an initial champagne-like carbonation that suggest this is a "young" Gueuze. Creamy texture. Finishes rather dry with tart apples and vinegar. Enjoyable and straightforward Gueuze. Maybe this one should have been thrown in the back of my "beercellar" for further complexity?

Pours a hazy golden color with a large 3 finger head. Very carbonated. Aroma of sourdough bread, and grapes. Flavor matches aroma with addition of apricot and a nice tartness.

Pours a hazy golden color with sediment and a white head. Fruit, tart and funk aroma. Tart, funk, bread, fruit and yeast flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Tart and funk finish.

My first gueze. Aroma is dominated by earthy, leathery tart apples with slight funky bready undertones. Taste hits first with a carbonated citric acid bite, then opens up to reveal the tart apples hinted at by the smell. Finishes tart and extremely dry. A good introduction to the style for me. I’ll be seeking out more guezes.

Corked bottle poured. Pours a light golden color with a really nice, sour apple aroma. Sweet and sour fruit flavors. A little green apple. Light. Really nice tart finish. Definitely champagne like, but very much in a good way. Enjoyed this a lot.
