3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 janir (215) - Oulu, FINLAND - MAR 20, 2008
Head is white with pretty big bubbles. Aromas are strong apple, it’s also sour. The same can be observed also from taste. Light/medium body is sugary and much carbonated. Sourness stays nicely on the roof of the mouth.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 texasbartender (160) - Sugarland, Texas, USA - MAR 17, 2008
This beer was somewhat of a surprise. I was not at all prepared for the over bearing sweetness of both the nose and flavor. This being my first tasting of this beer type leads me to believe that the sweetness has to do with the fact that it is a lambic and perhaps all lambics are this sweet. The flavor of this beer reminded me of Champaign.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gunnfryd (6517) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 16, 2008
Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is yeast, apple, sour. Flavour is sweet, sour, yeast, apple, citrus, cellar notes. Nice beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hotstuff (3213) - Indiana, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Bottle. White head that mostly diminished, fair amount of lacing, transparent, visible carbonation, and a golden orange hue. Nose was malt, sweet, sour, tart and fruity. Ditto for the flavor with a dry finish. Smooth, dry mouthfeel and light in body. Quaffable, refreshing, came together fairly well, and worthy of a try IMO.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 travita (2535) - Frisco, Texas, USA - MAR 12, 2008
Gold to copper in color. No head. The smell is a powerful combination of sourness and the grainy feel. Light in body the taste is a mix of fruit sweet and sour, almost not sour enough for the style. .
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 allfreej (466) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 8, 2008
Poured golden, honey-colored, with coppery highlights, a light tan lacy head. Cloudy. Nose is sour, yeasty, spicy--sandalwood, incense. Flavor is sour, a little malty, with wood falvors. Mouthfeel is thin to medium, with a nice fizzy feel. Not as good as Cuvee Rene.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 LyndaNova (524) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 7, 2008
12oz bottle: Pours a clear light orange color with a medium sized frothy alabaster head that is quickly diminished. Aroma is of light malts, rich fruit and grass. Taste is of nice grains, fruit (cherries?) and grassy hops well blended. Smooth and light bodied with ample carbonation. Ending contains light sour notes.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 kramer (3376) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 26, 2008
37.5 cl bottle. Pours a clear, rather dark, copper body under a minimal fizzy white head that faded rather quickly. The nose is very sugary sweet with minimal to no funkiness and touches of wet hay and cork. Saccharine chemical sweetness on the first sip yields just what I expected: the travesty that is adulterated Gueuze. A little bit of grapefruit and citrus rinds, but lacking in anything resembling tartness or sourness. The mouthfeel is unnecessarily thick and syrupy in body, it clings to the teeth with it’s sugary evilness. Just another in the line of pseudo Gueuze shams.
