Bottle. First lambic/geuze ever. Bottle states 5% alcohol instead of the four percent mentioned here. Pours hazy dark golden, bronze even. Little yeast residue. Tiny head that disappears in seconds. Aroma of champagne, unripe red fruits and sour. Taste caught me off guard, but within a minute I got accustomed to the taste and boy it’s good. Hits the palate exactly like champagne. Then, unripe fruits, sourness, dryness and some sweetness comes in. Plenty of carbonation and oily. Very refreshing. Aftertaste is long. Dry and sour. Some sweet and sour remain for a long time and induces excessive saliva build-up. This is a style I’d like to explore.

Al palato acidula, aceto di mele, uva bianca zuccherata, leggera pesca sciroppata, legno umido, finale prevalentemente dolce smorzato principalmente dal frumento ed in minima parte dal legno. Corpo medio-leggero, mediamente carbonata.

I bought this bottle in a Franprix in Paris. I drank it yesterday at home, relax. The body is yellow and orange, high carbonation, thin foam. The taste is sour with a side of sweetness, the taste is a bit similar that " a chicha peruana de Catacaos". The taste is in the mouth a bit agressiv, it is particular but it is not bad.

Bottle as Gueuze Foudroyante. Light amber, clear, little head, high carbonation. Very sweet aroma, ok mouthfeel. Very sweet, apples - too sweet, just drinkable.

Bottle at home. Two year old. The colour is clear dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of apricots, vinegar, apples, citric acid and barn yard. The flavour is surprisingly sweet with lots of apricots and fudge but still some sour citric undertones. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A rather sweet take on a gueuze but easy-drinking and balanced.

On tap @Buskers Pub (Rome). Pours clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma of barnyard, honey, balsamic notes, sugary. Flavour is medium to high sweet, light sour, sugary in the end. Medium body, light carbonation. More similar to a Faro, but ok.

Bottled. Pours clear deep golden with an average off-white head. Aroma of orange and apple notes, a little wood and a hint of funk. Sweet flavor that ends up being more dry and slightly tart. Light to medium bodied, watery texture and average carbonation. Quite sweet for a Gueuze but nice anyway. 🌟🌟🌟
