Bottle. First lambic/geuze ever. Bottle states 5% alcohol instead of the four percent mentioned here. Pours hazy dark golden, bronze even. Little yeast residue. Tiny head that disappears in seconds. Aroma of champagne, unripe red fruits and sour. Taste caught me off guard, but within a minute I got accustomed to the taste and boy it’s good. Hits the palate exactly like champagne. Then, unripe fruits, sourness, dryness and some sweetness comes in. Plenty of carbonation and oily. Very refreshing. Aftertaste is long. Dry and sour. Some sweet and sour remain for a long time and induces excessive saliva build-up. This is a style I’d like to explore.

Amber with small head. Sourness with grape like sweetness. Dry finish. A bit too tame for me.

250ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours orange-amber with a small white head. Mild citrus sour aroma. Similar flavour, not seriously sour, a slightly odd sweetness to it.

Vaaleahkon ruskean, ehkä hieman kuparin värinen olut hyvin niukalla valkoisella vaahdolla. Tuoksussa esiin nousee ennen kaikkea vahva hedelmäisyys, varsinkin omena. Myös maku hedelmäinen/omenainen kivalla puraisulla. Makeuttakin on, mutta ei liikaa. Marjainen jälkimaku toimii. Kyllä tämä omaan makuuni sopii voittaa kirsikkaversiot varsin komeasti, mutta 25cl pullo on ihan riittävä tällaista tavaraa.

My first geuze. 25 cl. bottle at home. Deep orange with a small, soapy, short lasting head. Aroma is quite synthetic. Taste is citrus sour, sweet and with a little funk. Dry aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A nice sipping sour, with more of a full body than most. The sourness isn't harsh or too tart, but more mild. Bottle in Brussels. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
