4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 flemdawg (503) - Naples, Florida, USA - NOV 9, 2004
A bit hazy yellow/orange color with a some what lasting head of the white pursuasion. A wonderful, mouthwatering sour, like vinegar, and musty aroma with some hints of lemon peels added for kicks. Ahhh, I don’t know why but I love the taste of lambics. Tart, but not overly so is the first taste, followed by a musty/cobweb taste, and finished off with a sweettart candy sourness. With every sip the flavos clung to my mouth making me wanting more, which lead to more clinging. Tasty stuff.

Big fruit-tart aroma! Flavor is very smooth, fruity and tart as well (just like the candies by the same name). This is my first lambic. I am generally not a fruity beer or wine lover, but this one is very nice. The ABV is well within my preferred range also. Nice.

Bottle Fairly clear deep amber with a thin but persistant white head. Thin but sticky lacing. Tart but not overly dry aroma. Expected musty, dusty notes but also plenty of flavor that is lacking in other Gueuzes Ive had. Flavor is similar, lots of tasty fruit flavors, deep acidic tart backing The tartness does not overpower and very tasty over all. Thanks to Buck Dich for sharing this one.

UPDATED: AUG 15, 2007 I am a huge fan of Lindemans. I always have some around my house, though due to price concerns I do not allow myself to drink through it very fast. Sampled from a 12 oz green bottle this beer pours a dark golden amber color with a large creamy white head and a decent amount of sediment. The aroma is very sour, tart, and vaguely fruity. The flavor is very sour, tangy and tart. There is a mild underlying sweetness. There is a decent fruity flavor though distinct fruits are not noticeable.

This one breaks my gueuze cherry. Pours turbid dark gold with a medium, creamy white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, white vinegar, citric acid, vomit (butyric acid), and Niagara wine. Tastes malty, with some hops, Niagara wine, chardonnay, and white grapes. I did not find this sour, rather very winey and refreshing. Very smooth palate. If this is a low end gueuze, imagine what happens once I start drinking the great gueuzes!! I’ll be like a calculus nerd in an adult video store! Very nice style!

This was my first gueze lambic. It had an interesting champaigne like taste. I need to find more of these because this was a fantastic brew.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Erzengel (5) - , GERMANY - FEB 24, 2012 does not count
My 37,5cl bottle (BBE: 22 Mar 2013) has 4.5%.
Ingredients: Water, malt, wheat, hops, yeast, sugar.

A dark evening with loads of candles. . . the wood of the picnic table has taken on an aroma of the earth caused by the mud-coated legs. . . a nearby light post has several cobwebs sporting small spiders. A nice sourness combines well with the meal, but the sweetness is especially nice with desert. What a night.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2004 The aroma is acrid and fruity. A fruity, tart and malty flavor. Complex, but fun. A nice dry finish. HEY, NO HOPS! Drink this instead of sparkling wine or Champagne on New Year’s Eve.
