COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our traditional Kriek Cuvée René Grand Cru is brewed with wild yeast from the surrounding air, water, malted barley, wheat, aged flower hop flowers and selected wild cherries. Deep cherry red clear body, tart taste with a moderate sourness and an authentic cherry skin presence. No added sugar.

Note: ABV known to be in the 5%-6.5% range, seemingly depending on the batch.

75cl bottle. Dark red, light cloudy, medium sized dark pink head. Sour red berries, hay, red cherries, cherry pits, light earthy. Taste is very tart with bitterness like biting on berry pits, light umami and dry bitter finish. Nice and complex kriek, very earthy but I'm quite enjoying it.

Tried 2007 vs 2012 750ml. Strange enough the 2007 was more fruity than 2012?! 2012 was more funky. You can trave the beer very well through the years. Very nice beer indeed, but in this case I actually prefered the 2007.

Bottle, 75cL. Home. Alc. 6,5 % Vol. A dark red beer with a medium smoothy pink head. Medium retention. Aroma of cherry (real fruit), smoke, barnyard, wood. Medium to heavy sour, really dry. Only light sweet background from the fruits. Bony body, thin texture, fizzy carbonation, lasting dry finish. Overall, great balance between fruit and sourness. Really dry, but a feeling of intense cherry as well.

Dark red with no head. Aroma of cherries, vinegar, acid, bread. Taste is very sour, tart. Very dry finish. Simply too sour for me. Overwhelming.

Rooby tones, small white head. Aroma is quite tart, some red fruit and barnyard. Favor is dry, dominated by tart cherries. Quite nice beer.

750ml bottle [6.5% abv]. Cloudy, dark red colour with small, frothy, collapsing, pinkish head. Sourish aroma, quite natural notes of sour cherries. Taste is tart, dry, notes of sour cherries. One-dimensional, definitely not appetisingly in a way. Not appealing to me.

750ml bottle poured in a chalice. Forget about Lindemans Kriek or the Pecheresse, Cuvée René is a real Lambic-Kriek. It’s not sweet, first of all, actually, this is acid and dry. When poured, at first time, it has a medium rose head with small retention and no lacings. Subsequent doses have not much head anymore. The color is a dark red. Quite cloudy. Reminds wine. The smell is reeeeally Lambic. Fruity and acid as it should. Reminds grapes but it’s probably only cherry. The taste is also acid close to vinegar. Again, very fruity with this metallic end left by Lambics. Again, this is dry. Body is light and drinkability too. Good stuff to people that like wild acid beers. [ BA Review @ 4/12/2011 ]

Pours deep red with fine pink froth. Smells earthy and woody (no-one else is getting it but I smell olive and cherry pips) I’m not getting strong fruit on the aroma like others but plenty of funk. Good sourness all the way through the palate and taste with the yeast the main flavor feature. Tart like unripe cherries and a little citrus (but mostly stone fruit). Hops play a subtle herbal role at the end, but the lingering sensation is puckering.
