Big, dense, pink head, which vanishes very fast. Has a dark, ruby red, vinous cherry color. Brett defined barnyard aromas, full of fruit flavor, with an earthy oak wrapping. Cherry aroma melts together with funky tartness in the nose, promising a fantastic, complex dryness. Tastes of musty, leathery malts with ripe, sweet cherries in the beginning, unfolding an incredible depth of fruitiness on the palate, as also the cherry-stones seem to add to the taste, contributing hints of almond and additional breadiness. Acidity then becomes recognizable, at first turning the cherries jounger, more sour, then adding a chewy, dry sourness, which still leaves a spot for the soft oakie cherries on the palate. Includes a very convincing complexity, both, fruits and funky sourness are intense, they pair together perfectly, resulting in a dry, enjoyable melange. This also applies for the aftertaste, although the tartness is growing, the longer it lingers on the palate. Nonetheless I found it astonishing to be able to detect cherries at that stage. Overall this is very fruity, without forgetting to add a huge amount of tart sourness to the beer, which tastes very fullfilling, as it exceeded my expectations of a well done Kriek.

From notes. Enjoyed at the Ashley’s Rare & Vintage Beer TasteFest on June 07. The pour is a great deep ruby, with a wonderfully light pink head that fades down moderately quickly. The lace doesn’t really exist. The aroma is big, sour and cherry. I love it. There is a little woodiness, and the lambic is definitely popping through. The flavor is much more sour (not a bad thing) and achieves a great balance with the fruitiness. The mouth feel is thin, but the carbonation makes it feel much thicker. The aftertaste is tart, sour cherry, and I am a big fan

Bottle. Was quite drunk when had this but I can remember the aroma was just wrong. Smelt like horse blanket and urine. Taste wasn’t much better either. Couldn’t finish.

Bottle: The aroma consists of a moderate tart and lightly sweet cherries mixed with baby diapers, lemon, and faint must. It pours a hazy reddish-orange with a small pinkish head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of tart and let sweet cherry. The finish has moderate sour lemon, must, and faint cork. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours dark blood red with a small browny head. Nose is shocking. It smells like a horse has taken a dump on a hay stack then rubbed itself in it. Not enjoying the aroma at all. Taste is moderately better as it isn’t so intensely ’horse hitty’ and the tarty cherry notes take over a little but it still isn’t exactly pleasing stuff. Not my kind of sour at all. Maybe the bottle was off? But it’s a sour so it should be ’horse blankety’ or something? Who knows. Horse shit is all I know

750 ml bottle shared by phaleslu. Pours a hazy reddish purple color with a small pinkish head. The aroma and flavor have tart cherry, oak, funk, musty character, some acidity, base gueuze character with some prickly mouthfeel. Solid.

Part of a SAQ private import. Pours a hazy red colour with particles floating around. The head is pink-red coloured, fizzing away quickly and with no lacing at all. Aromas of cherries, wood and sourness. The sourness is more present in the taste lasting the hold way. The cherry taste is kind of hidden, but the wood is still there. Hint of plastic in the flavours. Bottled June 7th 2011 with a best before date of June 2017. 2010 edition and No. 05108 written on label. Not a bad Kriek, but nothing exceptional.

Bottle at delirium. murky red, nose is cherry, corn, passionfruit, celery. Taste is deep, earthy not too tart, lemon zest and peach with obvious cherry notes. best kriek from Lindemans but not worth finding again.
