Dec 29, 2008 375mL bottle from PP bottle shop. $4.99 I think. Opened at alohaCs 2008 end of the year tasting. Smells like cherry juice, or slurpie, or Jello, or robitusson. Very sweet. The same very strong artificial cherry flavor/aroma that has spread to many many products in the world to hide other flavors. Still I liked it, but the drinkability is low.

Dec 29, 2008 Tastes and smells like slightly carbonated cough syrup with candy sugar added. Not sure this is a beer. Not nice. To be avoided unless you are in a hypoglycemic coma.

Dec 29, 2008 Side by side with kriek cuvee rene, brought by wetherel to sd north county holiday tasting. Pours deep purple with a bright white ring. Nose is like a cherry slurpy mixed with cherry robitussin. Taste is cloyingly sweet, way way way too sweet for what it should be.

Dec 28, 2008 Pours a deep burgundy red with almost some purple hues. Has a little fizzy pinkish rimming head. The aroma is a strong, sweet, and slightly medicinal cherry. A little bit of mineraly cough drop. The mineral flavor is there too. Some funk to it with a sort of bitter choke cherry flavor. A definite syrupy sweetness. Spritzy thin carbonation that finishes very clean.

Dec 27, 2008 Bottle at Chaucers Pub in London, ON. Decanted deep and colourful ruby red liquid, topped with a frothy pink cap. Nice nose of cherries, yeast, some raspberry, perfume. Tastes of sweet cherries, yeasty funk, kool-air, with tart cherry towards the end, with good acidity. Pretty well balanced.

Dec 22, 2008 Pours a deep ruby red with a slight pink head that sticks around for awhile. Nose of sweet black cherry soda, a mild hint of yeast and funk. It tastes like good dark cherry soda, but like cherry soda nonetheless. Very, very sweet. Full bodied, just enough carb and slight acidic zip to keep it from being a sugary mess.

Dec 21, 2008 12 oz bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a clear bright red color with no head and little carbonation. Aroma is strongly of cherries, especially chocolate covered cherries; sweet and syrupy with a hint of brandy and spice. Flavor is ver sweet and tart with a syrupy mouthfeel. Some hint of woody and spicy notes as it warms. Generally full bodied with tart, sweet finish.
