UPDATED: FEB 20, 2011 bottle - I’m a lindemans fan and have had this beer several times. This is a sweeter beer with a definite sweet and sour cherry taste.

February 2010 - my 375ml bottle shared with blankboy and garthicus. Bright red pour, average lasting pink frothy head (4-). Smells like cherry pie filling from the can! Sweet and sugary, with slightly tart cherry - really simple, but it triggered fond memories from childhood (the pie, not beer) ... if pressed, I might admit it also smelled a bit like cherry cough lozenges. The taste is also simple - somewhat sour cherry smothered in sweetness, hardly any funk to make this very "kriek" -like. Sticky, syrupy mouthfeel, mildly carbonated, with a sweet finish. I know I shouldn’t like this, but I did.

Sampling at Ray’s. Red amber in color. Sweet, tangy cherry pie filling. Flavor is plenty tart, yet a bit sweet for me. Finishes a little acidic, but not bad.

It is alright, but I wanted it to be more tart. Where their Framboise works with the sweetness, this one doesn’t.

Pour cherry red with a pinkish head. Aroma of cherry and a bit of hops. Lots of cherry flavor. Tart and sweet with lots of carbonation. Goes down too easily.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 russwbeck (117) - Tyrone, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2011
Pours a cherry red with a light pink head. The head laces very nicely. Bit of haziness. Really smells like cherries. Perhaps a bit of alcohol, but a really sweet cherry smell. Starts off tart, as one would expect, but the sweet cherries really balance this off well. Just a hint of alcohol for me, but the taste really is wonderful. Light and tart. This is my gateway kriek...I need more!

Review from notes, sampled 1/1/2008
Pours a slightly cloudy dark red with a fluffy pink/white head that disappears to lace on the glass. Smell is cherries in spades. Taste is also cherries, some real and also some syrupy cherry flavoring. Mouthfeel is medium thick with a sour cherry taste in the end. Heavy carbonation and a bit acidic. I love cherries and I think this is a great beer.

750 ml bottle. Pours red with a redish, long lasting head. Aroma is of sweet-sour cherry. The body is medium and crisp. Taste is of sweet and sour cherries with some spices. A good drink for dessert
