Aroma of sour cherry candy drops, with a touch of funk and a bit of bread. Some lactic action as well. Nothing lambic about the taste. Sweet-and-sour cherry action. There is a bit of astringency at the finish, and some malty breadiness as well. Cherries taste mildly reasonable, but it certainly is not whole fruit. Ok cherry flavor, with a nice sour edge that makes it somewhat pleasant, but little is beer-like about it. Disappointing, though better than Belle-Vue.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 11, 2009 This not my type of beer. It is a cherry flavored Lambic. The sweet beer lacks the bitterness that I enjoy. The Kriek poured a deep cherry red with a pinkish frothy head. This was a christmas gift that waited in the refrigerator until I was ready. The spontaneous fermentation is a fascinating method of making beer. bconger (75), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 9, 2009 Bottle. Dark rose pour with thin, mauve head. Candied cherry and raspberry on the nose. Cherry pie and lemon curd with great carbonation. Fun beer. WVHouseofBeer (357), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 6, 2009 Poured a deep, hazy ruby red with a frothy pink head. Strong sour candy aroma of cherries. Sweet cherry flavor with a little bit of yeast thrown in. Finished very tart and dry. A pretty good lambic, maybe a little too cloying. jredmond (1027), New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours an extremely deep hazy red with pink, off-white head. Nice sediment present. Aroma is strong cherry with slight funk. Taste is not as overpowering as expected, however the cherry is of course the dominant flavor present - coupled with very light yeast notes. Very subtle tartness present towards the finish. Jsawyer (282), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Bottlel; beautiful ruby body with a rosey foamy head. Aroma is only slightly lactic sour, but strongly sweet candy cherry. Flavor was sweet cranberry-cherry punch then a light sourness that finishes slightly floral. I think this would’ve made a decent substitute for wine but needed a bit more aging to be a good beer. Just too sweet. milljam (569), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Aroma is very cherry, with some hints of yeast. Flavor is cherry/sour cherry...the cherry reminds me of some cherry cough drops that I’ve had. Over all quite an interesting combination of sweet and then sour cherry with yeast in between. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Sep 15, 2009 12-oz., heavy green glass, corked, capped, and foiled. Kind of a PITA. Pours a very dark garnet with a bright pink frothy head and plenty of stringy pinky lacing. Gimungous synthetic cherry nose hits you as soon as you open it, and doesn’t stop hitting you until you somehow get away. Kind of makes you feel like Muhammad Ali in Kinshasa, fighting a huge purple and pink George Foreman in the early rounds. Creamy medium body. Unbelievably cloying sweet cherry candy mid-palate. Somewhere between cheap ice cream and expensive cough syrup. Long sticky white sugar finish. Total insulin shock.
