gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Feb 4, 2006 Tried this from a 25 cl bottle at Pannrummet in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Deep red clor and a fresh pink head.
Some acid but moslty "bitter almond" scent.
Taste also a mix of acid and bitter almonds.
After taste is a bit fruity, like you had some non-alcoholic lemonade. BobbyW3363 (154), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Jan 31, 2006 Hazy red color with a pink head. Cherry aroma, tart cherry flavor. Nice medium carbonation. Overall this is pretty nice, something I would have now and then, but it is generally kind of overpriced. henry3r (586), Wichita, Kansas, USA Jan 31, 2006 The bottle poured a hazy cherry red beverage with a medium sized pink smooth head that was mostly diminishing but left good lacing on the glass. The aroma of sour cherries was pronounced (of course) with notes of citrus in the background. The body was somewhat thin with medium carbonation and a sticky texture. The flavor starts off sweet and tart almost exactly like cherry soda. The finish is medium and still has a hint of the sweet cherry soda remaining. Maybe I just don’t appreciate Lambics yet but if I had wanted a cherry soda, I would have bought one and paid a lot less than I did for this. maeib (4677), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Jan 29, 2006 Bottled (3.5%). A deep red verging on brown coloured ber witha short-lived pinky white coloured head. The aroma is pure black cherries, skin, stones and pulp. The taste is also cherries but rather sweet and syrupy. Tastes way too sweet to qualify as a lambic, but as a weak in alcohol fruit beer it works and isn’t that what we should rate it as? So much better than some of the nasty fruit beers doing the rounds at the moment like Huyghe Strawberry Fruli. Very drinkable. ezra456 (39), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Jan 19, 2006 poured a beautiful dark red color with a nice fluffy pink head that dissipated quickly leaving little lacing. aromas consisted of black cherry and licorice. flavor was ripe sweet cherry with a nice tart aftertaste. very pleased. will defintely purchase again even though it’s a bit pricey (about $5 for a 12oz. bottle). Brigadier (1217), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA Jan 12, 2006 Poured cherry red with a thin reddish head. Smelled cherry licorice in the aroma. After admiring it for a while, I sipped it to discover not only cherry but a subtle hint of sourness.
Even though it is in a different category, I was reminded of the New Glarus Belgian Red. Very pleasant and easy to drink. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 11, 2006 Clear red colour with small, pink sparkling head. Very strong sweet cherry aroma. Sweet and sugary cherry flavor. Medium-bodied, lots of sugar but bearable with balanced carbonation. A sweet, but quite pleasant kriek. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland Jan 5, 2006 Draught. Dark red with a minor white head. The aroma is sweet consisting of cherries. The tflavour is not surprisingly sweet with cherries and has a pleasant aftertaste.
