Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA May 26, 2005 Like drinking a cherry candy. Love the way it looks too, fruit punch red.
First siop is very tart, fasdes quick after second.
Malty and refreshing, like punch with sorbet in it. turbothy (717), Bonn, Germany May 25, 2005 Updated: Apr 20, 2006Pours a nice cherry red with a pink frothy head. Aroma is wonderfully tart, and the flavour is sweet and prickly. Most delicious and right up my alley. KariCupcake (214), Lenox, Massachusetts, USA May 22, 2005 Cherry soda! This beer was a reddish color with a huge smell of cherries. So hugely yummy! ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA May 17, 2005 Beautiful deep cherry color. Thin head. Slight fizzy mouthfeel with a big cherry taste. Like drinking cherry soda. Yum! shrubber85 (2832), Wallhalben, Germany May 11, 2005 Updated: Nov 4, 2006Bottle. Sweet cherry and yeast aroma. Dark red color with small light red head. Sweet and sour cherry flavor with hint of yeast. Nicely sweet. lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA May 10, 2005 Pours a deephazy cherry red with a big frothy pink head. Lots of persistent lace. Smells of sour cherries and yeasty. Hints of the wheat malt.
Taste is very sweet. Some tartness from the cherries but mostly it’s cherry sweetness. Some sour yeastiness. Sticky sweet mouth. I prefer Lindemans Framboise instead of this, more balanced and understated sweetness. But this is a pretty good dessert/after-dinner beer. Wife loves it by the way...
madsberg (4873), Søborg, Denmark May 10, 2005 Bottled: Clear red coloured. On top a fantastic white head with a distinct red gleam. Distinct cherry aroma with a marzipan like sweetness. There is an apple undertone. Flavour is dry and light sour on top of the fruitsweetness. A bit sweet lambic, but well balanced. Dry and refreshing fruity end. Has good lasting. A bit too sweet for my likings, but still a very good beer. Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA May 9, 2005 Bottle: Lots of sweet cherry in the aroma. Very little tartness. Pours a very deep mostly transparent red with a pink head. Actually has some decent lacing. Flavor is all sweet cherry with a light tartness that comes in the finish. Light woodiness hides in the background with an even lighter vinegar flavor. Does come across a little cherry soda-ish or a lambic all jacked up with sugar. Fails as a lambic but still tastey none the less. More like the Belgian Red than a lambic. I really like cherries so my rating may be a little inflated compared to what I would rate a comparable lambic made with a different fruit. If your looking for a lambic with the expectations of that sour tart flavor, look elsewhere.
