MoritzF (4863), Bochum, Germany May 8, 2005 (bottled as Souvenirs du terroir Kriek) Hazy red colour with a small red fizzy head. Aroma of black cherries and sugar. Flavour is quite sweet, cherry taste with only a slight tart bitterness. Quite lasting finish. JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA May 8, 2005 Updated: May 31, 2005Full red color, with a long lasting, thick, pink head. Aroma of fermented cherries. Flavor is very sweet, it reminds me of cherry "laffy taffy" candy. As the beer warmed to room temperature there is increased complexity; it becomes more sour and an acidic quality shows through. A great dessert beer. masedawg (156), Statesville, North Carolina, USA May 8, 2005 Very red in color, almost looks like wine with hops. Pretty weak head, but there is some nice lacing. Smells a little like cough syrup and doesnt taste too much different. Almost tastes like an alcoholics juice box. Way too sweet for beer in my opinion, but it really isnt bad. I think i probably like stouts and ales too much to enjoy this properly. roomtempbeer (185), Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 18, 2005 Served in the bottle with the appropriate glassware at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Pittsburgh, PA. Beautiful appearance. Don’t know a lot about the style, or to what standards this type of beer should adhear to, but as far as being a palatable drink, this certainly is one. And with the added bonus of alcohol content, makes this a suitable drink for any occation. Almost a tie between this and the raspberry. But the raspberry wins. Otherwise, a nice beer. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Apr 17, 2005 750 ml bottle. Bright red colour with a white frothy head. Much like the framboise, the fruit takes centre stage, with lots of tart cherry aroma. Straightforward but good tart and sweet cherry flavour. Light bodied, dry and puckering but refreshing. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Apr 9, 2005 Wife had picked this out for her. Had an 8 oz sampler. All about cherry here. Aroma is cherry and sweet cherry flavor. Red cherry color body with a dark pink head. Enjoyable Lambic glad she shares. JensenTaster (1585), Denmark Apr 7, 2005 (on bottle)Nazy pink/dark pink. Overwhelming smell of marzipan - in a bad way. Carbonation like a sodapop and about the same flavour. Perky finish, still fresh, with a tone of sourness. Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA Apr 4, 2005 Mostly transparent deep pink with a large bubbled rose head. Strong nose of sweet cherries, grass. Flavor was more like cherry syrup, sweet and sugary, no tartness at all. Everything was hidden beneath the overwhelming cherry flavor.
