UPDATED: APR 24, 2005 The beer is. . .red? Wow they werent kidding about the cherries. It smells like sweet cherries, which is good but very sharp and sweet. Let’s get this over with. Cloying, sickeningly cherry flavored. DID NOT FINISH. wow. way too sweet cherry flavor. Has lindemans heard of the word SUBTLE? The worst crime was that behind the huge overpowering cherry flavor, was a wonderful sour yeasty lambic taste that tried to peek through but was crushed in a bloody violent cherry sweetness. I suppose it goes over better with the right food, but come on, does it need this much cherry??? no. Maybe it needs to be cellared for about 20 years. . .

color was a deep red, with a frothy pink head. smelled like cherries and not much else. mouthfeel.. a little bit syrupy. tasted mostly like "robitussen", my friend said; he wasn’t too far off-course. although it has "real cherries" , the cherry flavor was a lot more artificial and oversweetened than i was expecting - while new glarus belgian red is heavy on the cherry flavor, it is a lot more like drinking real cherry juice than this was; this was like sucking on cherry candy while tasting a small bit of lambic. behind all the sugar and cherry flavor was a bit of a woody, funky taste, with a tiny bit of tartness, but not enough to balance things out. i guess it’s a good way to get people trying lambics, especially because it doesn’t scare off people as easily (my first lambic was a lindeman’s framboise before i knew what lambic was), but i won’t be drinking this one again.

I was expecting much more from this Kriek. It tasted artificially sweet as well as too tart. I was expecting much more from Lindemans, and prefer their Peche and Framboise.

Bottle. Pink head. Dark red body. Aroma of cough syrup, cotton candy, cherries, sugar, soylent green. Flavor is sugar, cherry, Cepacol, sugar, sugar, sugar. Good God. Fanta with alcohol added.

i don’t understand this high rating ?! , the cherry is from it’s naturall taste sour , why the hell is this beer so sweet then ? i don’t like it , i can respect decent fruitbeers when they actually taste like the fruit itself , but this one tastes more like a cherry lollypop than the actuall cherry ... very bad beer

Bright red with redish foam head. Aroma is sweet fruit, cherries. Taste likewise, too sweet. A lemonade with alcohol, not my style. (Velp 201206)

375cl bottle at home. Very very sweet with no lambic character. Very one dimensional in the flavour and aroma which is dominated by sweet cherries.

Pours red/magenta with a big, pink head. Nose is cherry flavored cough syrup, gummy life savers, and spices like mulled wine. Taste starts with cherry tang leading to fruity sweetness with some tartness on the swallow and some light, lingering mustiness.

one small glass was all I could have... It was offered to me by a couple of friends on this warm afternoon. Tastes like cherry candy and has a carbonated- syrup mouthfeel. When most people say that they like lambics, they are often talking about these sugary malt beverages or that Sam Adams fruit beer. Try a Cantillon.
