Tart cherry cough drop aroma. Flavor is sweet cherry with a tart finish. Not something you’d want every day, but pretty enjoyable when you’re in the mood for something different.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/17/2014. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy pink head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big sweet/tart black cherry, cherry skin, candi sugar, straw, grass, light pepper, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with balanced authentic cherries, candi sugar sweetness, and light earthy yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big sweet/tart black cherry, cherry skin, candi sugar, straw, grass, light pepper, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of sweet/tart black cherry, cherry skin, candi sugar, straw, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness and balance of authentic cherries, candi sugar sweetness, and light earthy yeast flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly syrupy, and slightly acidic mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4%. Overall this is an excellent sweetened fruit Lambic style. All around great robustness and balance of authentic cherry, candi sugar sweetness, and light earthy yeast flavors; and very smooth and refreshing to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Tastes like a carbonated sour cherry juice. A nice lambic but now that I’m looking at all of the added ingredients I’m slightly put off. My wife loves it. Not as good as Boon or Cantillion, but very popular probably because it’s really drinkable.

Think dark red pour. Looks kind of like a carbonated red wine. Aroma is all cherry. Lots of tart cherry flavor. Slightly musty aroma and taste. Very good.

Draft @ The Wharf with DroolYeast. Aroma of sweet cherries. Clear red colour with medium red head. Very sweet and sour taste of cherries. Sweet and tart finish. Soapy texture, full to medium body. Average carbonation.

Niksko (371) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 20, 2014
Pours bright ruby red with some fine pink head. Nose is artificial cherry cough syrup, but also legit sour cherry and some sharp lemon. Flavor is more artificial cherry, but it soon fades to leave a sharpness at the back of the tongue, along with some real sour cherry flavor on the finish. Pretty sweet, but the sourness balances reasonably well. Sticky and viscous mothfeel from all of the sugar. Pretty good, but it would be better without the artificial flavor.

Nice aroma of cherries, light yeasty aroma. not too complex. Pours red with medium sized head, that quickly disappears. Nothing exciting. Taste is mostly sweet, like a cherry juice. There is some sourness, almost no bitterness. Pretty high carbonation, decent drinkability. ok beer, but I wish it was less sweet and more sour..

Tap. Ruby pour with a spark and pink head of mediocre retention. Nose is mostly cherries, pretty intense and with somewhat sweet note to it, sort of syrupy. Taste is mostly sour, but not overwhelmingly sour. Just sour-sweet. Not very complex, lacks the intensity of other lambicish, belgian notes, but is quite refreshing and crisp. Also, some minimal hoppiness on the palate and in taste.

Bottle at home, acquired at Brussels, Eurostar Lounge, 26th October 14. Intense red colour, full on aroma, cherry drop sweets on the aroma and syrup. Taste is cherry boiled sweets, slight acid, very nice and full of flavour. Pretty tasty

Crisp cherry smell and taste. Tastes more like a cider. Unusual taste but very refreshing
