COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
DISCLAIMER:
This is a special release from Lindemans. These are bottles which were intended to become Lindemans Gueuze Cuvée René, but they lacked to start a second fermentation. The contents is a 2 years old lambik (1994) blended with a 1 year old lambik (1995). It is a 1996 vintage and was released from the brewery in 2006.

Most of the bottles were exported to Sweden (Systembolaget) and sold as "Lindemans Oude Lambik". Some of them stayed in Belgium. This beer can therefore also be tasted at Heeren van Liedekercke. It is named "Lindemans Loeierik" over there.

Because of the blend this is not the same as "Lindemans Oude Lambik".

If you had a draught version, then you should definitely add a rating for "Lindemans Oude Lambik".

Bottle, DHVL. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small froth of white foam. Not quite still looking. The nose is all funk and cobwebs with almost zero acidity, some slight cheesy notes. The flavor is very nice, super funky and dry with a bit of hard minerals, incredibly dry on the finish. Still a nice body with just a light touch of carbonation, bone dry. Very nice beer, in an even nicer place to partake of it in.

75cl bottle at DHVL vintage 1996. This was the first bottle me and oj83 ordered and it didn’t let us down. Poured with a one finger head. The beer was light golden in colour and very light on the palate. Just a hint of carbonation! The taste was slightly oxidised but it was nothing major. Lots of fruits and citrus going on. This is a very easy drinking beer that would be enjoyed by most.

1996 lindemmans loerik. Thanks to alex for sharing. 750ml vessel.. Pours a semi murky cinnamon orangey brown with a thin film of solid white head that concentrated at the edges of the glass, er cup... Surprisingly very vivid and vibrant lambic goodness with a funky supporting profile... Flavors are much of the same with a nice solid genuine lambic base, a light green apple and grass come through towards the finish. Light on the carbonation. 9/4/8/3/16

MrChopin (2927) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 16, 2011
Transparent gold, frothy white creamy head, small bubbled and with moderate lacing. Flavor of age, a mixture of rind and old sponge, with light melon and strawberry elements from faint acetic. More rind, honey dew flavors, large cobweb and dust in the dry, sticky finish, bit green there in the contrast with lemon and wheat. Very nice overall, just a bit all over the place.

Bottle at DHL shared with MrChopin plus 2. Clear golden color, solid white head, solid lacing (not bad for a lazy one!). Aroma of dusty, sweaty lemons. Taste is dusty grapefruit, with a deep, sweaty sourness. Very nice.

[3728-20110513] Big bottle. Flower petals yeast aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Delicious yeasty flavour is simple and straight-forward and I want some more; it’s sour but has a wonderful balance of something yeasty that is almost sweet at first. Medium body is yeasty and fairly sour. I could sit around all night just smelling this. 10/4-/9/5/18) 4.6
Overheard: "WHOA! I swear this is older than I am! Just give me pitcher of this."

750 ml shared by Alex at Sean’s 30th Birthday. Pours a glowing orange hue, golden elements with good haze, a frothy whitish head dies to a small offwhite ring, laces ok. Aromas are a melange of wonderful lactic acid, funky brett, wet oak, atraw. Grass, lemons, touches of pears, funky soft gentle cheese. Lemons, grapefruit, very nice and rich. Initial is lighter bodied, with a healthy sour bite, lemons and acid, touches of yogurt, sour acid but still inviting, sour and still quenching like lemon or limes. Straw, bready malts, sour flashes and melanges of fruit, funky brett, yogurt, some funky cheese. More sour than funky, some wet oak, I really dig this. Finish is tart and lactic, some bready malts, oak. Really nice aged lambic that still tastes amazing. More sour than funk wins me as a fan, light and ended up well carbonated.

Thanks to Alex for this 1996 bottle... Pours a dark orange with a light tan head, surprising amount of carbonation... Super musky, tons of oak, a bit oxidized but really nice.... Lots of oak some nice musky notes

11/11/12/9//10

Bottle [750ml] shared with HogTownHarry, jerc & mabel -- c/o j&m. Pours a cloudy yellow-gold with a spare diminishing off-white head. Aroma: Wow, amazing! Sour and tart fruit, yeast, barnyard, herbs, Baby Jesus’ tears and more -- a perfect smelling beer! Flavour follows the aroma and is so easy to drink, it’s basically a super easy-drinking version of the style. Medium bodied. Almost a perfect beer -- amazing!
