The_Beer_God (2797), Newport News, Virginia, USA Apr 26, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Immy. Thanks Tim! 1996 vintage. Label states 993 of 1042 and has 11643-01. Not sure what that exactly means, though. Hazy gold. Soft spotty white head. Aroma is GODLY! Barnyard, wet wood (cedar?), cat urine, sweat, damp earth, funky yeast, and very sour fruit. Taste replicates and expands these. More mouth-puckering fruit, lemon juice, wet wood, earthy dampness, funky yeast, hay and sweat. Bit of cheese as well. Body is bone dry and rather acidic and as mentioned before this is mouth puckering. Very faint carbonation and borders on flat, but that’s how this is really supposed to be! Ends with more sweat, sour fruit, funk, wet wood, and earth notes. Very tasty and I feel privileged that this was shared with me.

Clear amber honey colored body. Really nose nose of soft honey malt and an aged character consisting of dusty, earthy sourness. Fruity and sweet up front, low carbonation, but holding up well with age. Dusty, musty flavor, does not have an intense sourness or pucker factor, but still quite acidic yet remaining somewhat soft on the palate. Light honey and apple pie finish. A nice gem. MaltDawg (187), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 16, 2008 1996 993/1042 courtesy of Immy at RB Richmond Gathering. Slightly cloudy straw colored with almost no head. Aroma of cherries, sour apple, and wet wood. Complex flavors include oak, horse blanket, some sour cherry and lots of other stuff like maybe some cedar and tobacco. Light mouthfeel with some sourness, well carbonated. Thanks Immy for sharing such a special beer.
