COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only available straight from cask at the brewery or in a very few traditional pubs in the direct neighborhood of Vlezenbeek.

Attention! This is not the bottled 1996 vintage to be found in Swedish Systembolaget or in speciality shops in Belgium. If you had "Lindemans Oude Lambik 1996 Vintage" or "Lindemans Loeierik", then you have to enter a rating for "Lindemans Oude Lambik (Loerik)".

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Lindemans Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Lindemans Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

Fresh from the brewery, served in 10 L jerrycan. Only slight hazy golden color. Aroma of barnyard, hay, still some ammonia-notes in it. Quite dry. You can note the resemblances between old and young lambik, but the older one is definitely more improved and matured. Nice one.

Small sample from bottle at Camping Ratebeer ’14. Pours hazy orange/golden without any head. Aroma has quite some sweetness, some fruitiness and barnyard. Taste is soft sour with quite some sweetness, fruitiness and a slightly dry finish. Medium body, soft carbo.

Appearance and mouthfeel is of rustic apple juice - cloudy copper with no head, fairly thin body. Lively carbonation though, nose and initial taste is sour, followed by some citrus tang.

On tap at DHVL, pours a clear golden with a tiny head. Aroma is subtle with light funk. Flavour is fairly sharp, with funk, lemon, and leather. Finishes very citric, but well-balanced. Solid one, but not my favourite of the unblended lambics.

Cask pour@Nacht vd Grote Dorst, Eizeringen 25/04. Pungent apple vinegar acidity morphs into a bland, straight-up citric, musty wood and again viscous apple vinegar attack. Refreshing, with rough edges but no danger for the enamel,
