Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA Oct 11, 2007 It poured a cloudy gold with a big white head. It looked like a classic wheat. The similarity ended with the first sip. I am still learning to appreciate this style. It was sweet without any balancing sourness or bitterness. It was also pleasant and refreshing. It looked like a beer, but it tasted much different. I’m still learning. Miksu (2187), Jyväskylä, Finland Oct 7, 2007 0.25 l bottle. Orange color. Sweet and acidic aroma with perfumed notes of peach and cloudberry. Sweet and acid flavor with juicy peach. Lambic charater is almost compeletely masked by sweetness. Svesse (2597), Hässelby, Sweden Oct 6, 2007 (Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 29 Sep 2007) Amber colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity nose with tart notes of apricots, spicy. Fruity taste with sweet notes of peaches. Not very complex, there’s just peaches here, no traces of lambic character. And it’s way too sweet. Is this really a lambic or just another syrupy fruit beer? Not sure. faroeviking (6016), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Oct 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours a nice hazy orange colour. Sweet fruity peach aroma with some sourness. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet and fruity with peach, some oak and a pleasant sourness. Sweet and dry fruity peach finish. hiddenvariable (194), pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2007 bottle. pours a clear deep amber, with very little head. smells strongly of sour peach with a hint of cherry and maybe a bit of a woody note. flavor is much of the same, finishing with a sweet and sour tartness that i feel is just about perfect for a lambic. medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Sep 26, 2007 Bottle served in Bouchon in the Venetian hotel & casino, Vegas. I had the apple lambic a few days ago and criticized it for being too sweet in my rating. Well, mood definitely plays a role in rating beer, because I actually really enjoyed this one a lot, and it was no less sweet than the apple lambic. Poured a cloudy orange amber with aromas of fresh peach juice swelling out of the glass. Peachy sweet palate with that characteristic mustiness and champagne-like carbonation. pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 13, 2007 pours hazy golden with a medium white head. Fruity nose. Initially sweet and peachy. Champagne, apple, sugar. Following is a slight bitterness and dryness. Sweet at first but balances out nicely. Good Lambic. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Sep 13, 2007 25 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy orange with a lacing off-white head. Apple nose, slight peach fruity and a classic lambic note too. Sweet, citric into a mellow peach sweet finish. Has faint notes of wood along the way. Overall an extremely sweet beer.
