jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Jul 28, 2006 This is my favorite lambic. It pours orange with a white head. It is quite cloudy. It smells wonderfully of tart fruit, peach, wheat, and yeast. It tastes quite nice - muted hop bitterness to balance the malty sweet and funky sour lambic flavor. The peach addition is just enough to take the beer over the top - very noticable, but more subtle than most fruit lambics. I think the balance of sweet and tart in a peach is closer to the lambic sans fruit, so this fruit disturbs the balance less - a fine combnination. Even better than the Geuze in my opinion. For most special occasions, I favor a 750ml bottle of Lindemans Peche over a bottle of champagne (my wife loves this beer, too) oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Jul 24, 2006 Bottled. Hazy orange colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma of peach. Flavour is peach. One of the sweeter Lindemans’. A bit sticky palate. Imbockinsxtx (75), Big Bend, Texas, USA Jul 19, 2006 Pours a yellowish colour with littlel head into a flute glass. The odor consists of overfermented to slighty decadent fruit scents. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and the flavour is nicely sweetened with abundant fruit. It’ s a little sweet but has a pleasing finish if you like the added sugars. Not my favorite style but still a nice balance between sweetness, tartness, and acidity. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jul 9, 2006 bottle. Aroma: Mostly peaches with a little sourness and earthiness in the far background. Appearance: Deep gold in color and clear. No head or lacing. Flavor: Peaches. Very low sourness tries to break through but is crushed by sweet peach flavor. No funk, barnyardy, or any other lambic flavors detectable through the peach flavor. Palate: Light body. Moderate carbonation. Sweetness gets sticky after awhile and demands a palate cleanse. Overall: This is a good beer to give to people who don’t like beer. There’s nothing about this beer not to like, except for its uninteresting nature. OldMrCrow (1179), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2006 From a fresh bottle.
Pours a rich gold with a modest head; the aroma is dominated by peach syrup, with some sour apples and vinegar beneath and hints of lambic funkiness below that. The flavor is dominated by sweet peach candy (think peach Jolly Rancher) but the tartness from the lambic adds an interesting twist: the beer ends up tasting surprisingly much as if it was made from apricots rather than peaches. In addition to the peach/apricot, we get a whisper of pineapple, some gently sour notes and a faint hint of the funky lambic yeasts.
The beer is certain on the sweet side, but this works tolerably well for the peach flavor and so - as long as one knows what one is getting into - the beer is pleasant enough. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 22, 2006 Bottle. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of musty yeast, peach, and sugar. Flavor is sweet up-front, peach, with a sour finish. Good body, lambics are not my thing, but this was ok. tommy8768 (120), Litlle Compton, Rhode Island, USA Jun 9, 2006 Clear golden pour, small white head with ok lacing. Very sweet but witha slightly sour finish. Strong taste of peaches. Does have that slightly gamey taste that all lambics have. A tad too sweet but still very good. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Jun 7, 2006 Poured a golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is of peaches with hints of the typical lambic funk, such as wood, wet wool, and other aromas such as these. Flavor is strong of the peach but I can definately pick up on the aromas of wood and wet wool. Finishes tart.
