NobleSquirrel (1094), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2004 Updated: Apr 10, 2005First ever lambic. I thought I’d ease into the style with a fruit one, first. I was expecting something more like vinegar, to be honest, but was nicely surprised. Color was that of ruby red grapefruit juice with a nice effervescene, similar to a fruit soda. The smell instantly made me think of cherry fruit snacks, with hints of peach sneaking in, as well as some yeast and musty malt. Very sweet/tart in the nose, and on first taste the same. There were some bold malts sneaking through. It came across as really quite sweet, with a sugar candy taste, but also like a mixed drink that uses peach schnapps. Like another user said, it could stand more of the tart in order to balance the sweet. Tasted a lot like Chinese sweet/sour sauce or duck sauce. Rather interesting and fruity. Holdwine (904), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Aug 18, 2004 Okay, so it doesn’t really taste like beer, but who is complaining? This the perfect after dinner drink. Peaches everywhere, nose, start and finish. Awesome fruitiness, but not too sickly sweet. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Aug 17, 2004 Crystal orange with very fine bubbles. Yeast, wood, peach and sweet/sour aromas on the nose. Sweet start witha sour finish. Fuller mouthfeel with a beautiful light peach flavour though I think it would benifit from some more sourness to balance out the sweet. Sven (229), Lancaster, California, USA Aug 13, 2004 Volumous crisp-white head sits atop peach colored beer. Not as carbonated as other Lindeman varieties, but still rather champagne like in appearance. Sweet smell of ripe peaches. Very fruity, nearly overwhelming peach flavor. Full flavored, finish is smooth and round. waveman352 (178), Walden, New York, USA Aug 12, 2004 Very good tasting although if you looking for a true beer you’ve come to the wrong place. A very champagne like taste, almost like that of malt beverage. I had never had a lambic before so it was worth my while. badgerben (3584), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Aug 11, 2004 Light amber color with with medium head. Aroma of peach and perhaps bread. Mmmm... it’s like I bit into a peach. Much more sugary than a natural peach. More yeast and bread, a little sour. Medium carbonation. Tasty! Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2004 Pours golden and quite fizzy...smells of yeast and peach...tastes quite tart...a good lambic, but nothing outstanding here... spkldhenlvr24 (446), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 1, 2004 Not as good as the Framboise, but not too bad. A lot like sparkling cider. Pale golden, very bubbly appearance. Little or no head. Aroma wasn’t as good as the rasberry, maybe peach aroma just isn’t as strong. Good balance of sweetness and fruits. Also had a good malty peach aftertaste. I think I might need to try more lambic.
